“Another Wonderful Stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 23, 2013

This is the second time me and my family have stayed here. Catherine is a lovely hostess. The green room has a new bed and is divine to sleep in. The locally sourced food is of excellent quality. The best breakfast in Shropshire. The kids love feeding the pigs and new lambs. It has a great and safe play area/trampolene/zip wire. The farm is conveniently located close to local attractions and has a whole heap of walks for the more energetic. A must visit if you are in the area.

Thanks for the review, Cathy. I missed the boys help this morning when I had to feed the lambs on my own! Maybe we will see you in the Summer when you come for the 194os weekend at the Black Country Museum - I'd love to see you in all your outfits!

This was our second visit to Broome Park in four years, and coming from Australia it's become our home away from home.

The rural setting is quiet and relaxing with the occasional noise from the nearby sheep the only sound. The room is spacious and the food fantastic with all ingredients organic and sourced locally.

It's the small things that leave a lastibg impression, like the freshly made cookies on arrival and the warm greeting from Catherine, the host. Even Max the dog gives you a nice smile.

It's a rare treat to find somewhere as nice and tranquil yet still close to nearby amenities as Broome Park.

A couple of points: have the locally produced granola - it's a culinary treat, and say hi to Max, the energetic and slightly bonkers dog. Oh, Catherine makes the best coffee in Cleobury and you'll find yourselves overdosing on caffeine. Yep, it's that good.

If you are reading this review and are wondering whether to stay at Broome Park Farm, I can thoroughly recommend it as by far the best B&B we have ever stayed in, and we have stayed in quite a few in our time!

Catherine has thought of absolutely everything you need to make your stay a perfect one. The bed (green room) is large and extremely comfortable; the heating efficient and the bathroom and shower excellent. There is access to a lovely sitting room and log fire if needed on a chilly evening. The windows are double glazed, so it’s quiet and it’s warm. It is also very tastefully decorated, and clean.

I am sure Mary Berry would enthuse over Catherine’s home baking. We were welcomed with tea and buttered scones, flapjacks and chocolate brownies to die for! As if that was not enough there are home made cookies in the bedroom too, with the tea and coffee making facilities.

It was wonderful to hear the owls hooting in the trees just outside as we came home from an evening meal at a local hotel.

There are lots of happy animals around, including a bouncy Mack (their young black lab), chickens, pigs and cattle. It is certainly a busy farm, but not a noisy one. The room faces out over the fields, on the opposite side of the house to the farmyard.

Breakfast is a rare treat and definitely to be savoured. Everything is fresh and full of flavour including delicious yogurt, a selection of cereals, fruit juice, fresh or stewed fruit … and then comes the most perfectly cooked full English breakfast. You have to have it! It’s all local produce, if not from the farm itself and all perfectly served on the plate like the work of art that it is. The coffee and tea are excellent too, and there is butter, home made jam, marmalade or local honey to spread on your toast.

I understand sandwiches or an evening meal can be provided too (a day’s notice needed) and have no doubt that these would also be excellent.

Maps and books about the area are there to help you choose where to spend your time during the day, there are lots of walks in the area to help you work up an appetite for the next Broome Park Farm culinary treat.

So my advice is, book it for an absolute minimum of two nights. I had never been to Shropshire before – we had had a house full of people for three weeks and it was my birthday so we decided to have a break away somewhere completely different. We thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it, and the area is lovely, with lots to see and do within a few miles’ drive.

I will be back for sure to use your super B&B in the very near future :-)

What can we say, Catherine welcomed us with tea & cakes, which were fantastic. We've had a superb 3 day stay and her English breakfasts are just what you need to start the day. All-in-all a brilliant place to stay, it's quiet, comfortable and welcoming, well worth the visit, thanks for a brilliant short break :)

From the moment we arrived we knew we had struck gold!

The welcome was warm and genuine, the tea and cakes absolutely delicious and the views from our room were superb. The room itself was spacious and clean with a good sized en-suite bathroom and the bed was very comfortable.

To top it all off, Catherine's "Full English" breakfast was plentiful, used local (mainly home-grown) produce and was mouth wateringly good.

We hope to return to explore the area further and will certainly look to stay here again.

Attending a party on the saturday night and this was an ideal base, close to the centre of cleobury.

A lovely welcome from both the dog and the owner, the room was very nice with plenty of space and an excellent, powerful shower.

The fridge on the landing area was also a useful extra with free milk and water available (if i was being extremely picky it wasnt really cold enough to keep items chilled) but this had no real impact and as a positive we were offered wine glasses once it was notice we had brought a bottle with us, so top marks for attentiveness

The breakfast was also very nice with plenty of choice including the full english and the complimentary cookies were very tasty so we took a couple home with us :D

For the price we paid i would quite easily say this was one of the best places i have stayed at and would recommend to anyone looking for accomodation in the area.

Many thanks for your kind comments! I am aware that the fridge on the landing can be a bit hit and miss and always try to adjust the thermostat but will look into replacing it in the near future. Glad you enjoyed the cookies :D
