Had a kgb deal at this hotel, fantastic value. Staff superb and the food is amazing. we had a room that had a fully refurbished bathroom and I presume the bedroom would follow as it was a little dated though very clean and comfortable. Would definatley return.

We stayed at the Crown on a Groupon voucher £79 for two nights and that was priced about right. They say they charge up to £130 per night I would have been very upset if I had paid that much for what we got.

There seems to be two sides at the Crown the room in the original pub and the rooms in the annex people staying in the pub itself have a different experience to those in the annex. People we spoke too staying in the pub had lovely rooms in the annex it was much different, but I have to admit the rooms were clean although a little tired and worn. The beds extremely comfortable but the skylight windows did not have much of a view.

The shower in our room did not work, problems with the water pressure we were told the shaver light and adapter did not work either and the was an arm chair in the room that was so stained and disgusting that it would'ent look out of place on the local tip.

But I must give the place top marks for the food and service, we ate in the pub both nights and it was a truly wonderful experience, with efficient and friendly service from the young staff members.

Yes this place is worth a visit if only for the food but at £130 per night (NO WAY) you are better off at a Premier

Room Tip: Don't accept a room in the annex

During our recent stay nearby we had two meals at The Crown - a lunch and evening meal, both in the Rent Room.
Our lunch was fine - the dining area was quite busy for a mid week lunch time. Staff efficient and friendly. We returned the following evening for an evening meal in the relaxed area of the Rent Room. I had a Fillet Steak which was not very good quality, whilst my wife had Beef Stroganoff, and she found this rather heavy on the rice.
So a bit 'middle of the road' and a bit on the expensive side for what was basically a pub meal.

We really enjoyed our stay here. Only stayed one night but wish it could have been more as we fell in love with the place. The journey over the tops was shrouded in mist but as it cleared and the Crown came into view we could see why other reviewers were similarly smitten. Covered in leafy vegetation, and exuding old world charm it was an ideal place to stay as we visited Ludlow and South Shrops. The room was all beams and sloping roof, the windows small and the bathroom "quaint" but perfect. The meals were excellent and service attentive and efficient.

A real gem of a place in a lovely location. We were made very welcome, the accommodation was very good. The whole experience was so very good. The restaurants were good, the food and service excellent. Breakfast made to order - what more could one ask?! Oh, and the beer was great too! It's a long time since I enjoyed genuine, honest hospitality from staff at a hotel and I would recommend this place to anyone. They made our weekend so very special.

Room Tip: We stayed in the cottage annexe and it was good. Would have liked to stay in the main hotel part but...

just had a lovely w/e(sat/sun,30/6-1/7). found the crown very restful, friendly, food was great. We ate in the a la carte restaurant on the sat night & had a delightful meal, good value as well. Nice as well that they use local produce. Special mention to the hard working staff that made our w/e even more special. Wouldn't hessitate in going back & also recommending it to others.

Room Tip: ask for one of the rooms in the origanal part of the inn, theres only 3, but you might hit lucky!

Stayed at the crown inn after receiving a email offer, what a great place to unwind, could not fault it, fab food, staff were so competent, room was very spacious and clean, with a lovely large bath, the food in restaurant all home made with local produce , we would definitely visit again and i would also reccommend to any friends and family , as the price was unbeatable for the service and quality we received .
