“A cracking start to 2012”
Reviewed January 4, 2012

We checked in for the New Year celebrations, the staff team were lovely, professional and nothing was too much trouble, the room was big, clean and served our purpose very well. The hotel is well positioned on the edge of the Cotswolds, it easy to find and parking is plentiful. The food and service was great at all meal times, for a mass produced meal on New Years eve I still cannot believe how tender the beef was, one of the best 'group' meals I have ever had. The hotel has a lovely feel to it, the facilities are great, the leisure club is perfect for the size of the hotel, all round I would highly recommend this place, the General Manager and team should be really proud, they helped make our New Year celebrations memorable. Thank You.

I stayed at the four pillars in late november for a week on "business"

The staff were extremly helpful and friendly. The room was >standard and clean with an army of cleaners out in force each morning servicing the rooms. The facilities are good and even though the health suite is basic the swimming pool was impressive.

I dined in the restaraunt a couple of times and whilst the food was fine it was rather expensive for a bar menu. On the plus side the bar and dining area are well decorated and the ladies on breakfast were accomodating when i asked for something that wasnt on the servery.

Parking was ample at the hotel and the thing it really excelled at was free wifi- this made my stay so much more enjoyable as i could research work and keep in touch with my family. This and the location are ideal for people who are travelling through the area and need a night stop or thise on business.

Thanks to the staff for making my stay more pleasurable!

We went along to an organised Christmas party - there were several groups there on the same (Saturday) night all attending their own party. The food was good, but the portions were small, as we had paid £35 each I was very disappointed with this and also that no wine or drinks included (apart from coffee at the end of the meal). The presentation was okay (Christmas crackers etc on the table) and the price included a disco - which was quite good.
The drinks bought from the bar were typical (expensive) hotel prices (2 drinks approx £9) and the wine (nothing special) averaged £20 per bottle.

Not very good value for money - I do NOT plan to return to this place again.

We stayed at the Witney Four Pillars during a conference. The hotel was located great for driving in with ample secure parking spaces. The check in was smooth. The Reception staff was very helpful to take time to find information about local attractions requested. The room was spacious, comfortable. There was plenty of good quality tea and coffee to use.
The restaurant was busy. Breakfast was average but plenty. Lunch and Dinner were good. The staff were rushed because of the number of they had to serve on the night of the conference dinner. My only disappointment was the tea was over brewed even in the UK.
The Witney lake is a five minute walk from the hotel.A nice place to relax.
Try to avoid peak time if you aim to come or return through Oxford .The buses are a 10 minute walk from the hotel if you want to catch one see the city of Spires

came to this hotel in early december for a christmas party, the food was very average the turkey was dry the soup wasnt seasoned and tasted of nothing! bought in bread rolls and the table full of so many glasses/decorations barley enough room to move!
the bar servie was terrible only one member of staff serving on the bar in a room of approx 70 people! it was madness had to wait about 15-20 minuets to be served because the bar maid was clearing up a broken glass! then the coke machien broke and was told i had to go to the main bar to collect my coke, seems like the staffing needs some attention definatly on the bar, area, i left dissapionted, shame because its a beautifull hotel, just needs some tlc
