“Reliably excellent”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 5, 2014

If you like eating, drinking and enjoying adult companionship in a comfortable well managed environment then this is the place for you!

Food is served Monday - Saturday during daytime, not evenings, and I recommend you book because the reliably high standards of service, food and comfort have quite a following! The patio is a delight, well furnished, with awnings to keep off rain or sun and there are televisions in the patio and in the pub itself (usually with the sound off so as not to disturb diners) for the enjoyment of sports enthusiasts.

Smokers in many establishments are not well catered for, but in the patio here, tables with ashtrays enable smokers to sit and talk/eat with their families/friends if they wish to, If you wish to bring children, well behaved older children are allowed in the restaurant, families with younger children, particularly with prams and pushchairs are welcomed in the patio area.

I've eaten there as a woman on my own, with my elderly mother or with my husband over a number of years and very much appreciate the friendly and inclusive atmosphere. The patrons do their utmost to adjust mensus to suit individual needs. it would be a great place for a working/business lunch - and the lunchtime weekday trade seems to cater to many local workers and business groups.

“What a find!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 18, 2013

On a cold wet Monday ...so glad to have found this lively restaurant in the heart of Witney. We didn't want a lot so a RoseSpritzer, a Pinot Grigio and a sharing plate if Nachos smothered in Cheese with Salsa and Soured Cream... It was just the ticket. Staff were lovely, chairs comfy, toilets clean..perfect !
