Description: This traditional Inn boasts a wealth of exposed beams, stone-flagged floors, a roaring log fire in winter, a pleasant garden in summer, a comfortable bar and secluded dining areas. The Boot is famous for its collection of boots and other footwear, presented to us by celebrities, sportsmen, pop stars, politicians and others. Our Head Chef insists on only the freshest ingredients, locally–sourced wherever possible.

The Boot would have got a 5/5 but it was so cold in the restaurant that it was nearly unbearable. The food was great, the chef was perfectly accommodating to my Coeliac (gluten-free) daughter and the waitresses were ever so polite.
If only it wasn't so cold - all tables had people wearing their jackets with crossed arms trying to keep warm.
My advice: The bar area was much warmer so ask to be seated in there, or go in the summer.

We've been living 10 mins down the road from The Boot for 4 years now, but only had our first meal there last month. Have to say I wish we'd found it sooner, but I'm sure we'll be making up for that.

This second trip was even better than the first, a perfect mix of quality food, great presentation and friendly service. A special mention for the puddings, which felt like they were made by someone with a real love of dessert - just the right level of sweetness and consistency in both the chocolate torte and treacle pudding.

Family friendly too (our two year old enjoyed the little bits of our meals that we grudgingly shared!).

Over four first courses and four mains, and one pudding, each was delicious. The service was prompt and friendly. We shall definitely return.

Whilst looking online for a place to eat we struggled to find great food that wasn't located in up tight environment. The Boot is decorated with an epic array of boots and shoes which used to belong to some great and funny famous people. The food is outstanding and combines a well balanced mix of adventurous and traditional. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. Prices were very reasonable, two main meals and two glasses of wine for just over £30.

Been here a few times and each time has been a very good experience.
Friendly and attentive service and the food is excellent with some interesting twists and not overpriced. Interesting decor too.
Definitely worth a visit if you are in the Oxford area. It's now a must visit for us when we are nearby.
