Presents itself as fine dining. Sort of.

What is good: The fish, the menu selection. The price

Not so good: The wine is a bit one dimensional. Some of the textures are lacking.

Would I go again? Yes. The price is reasonable for the quality, though the atmosphere lacks a bit of something. Food is good though not stellar.

We had a farewell afternoon tea to say goodbye to my Dad, as it was a place that Mum & Dad went to often, they really looked after us all there and the food was excellent, Great environment for a final goodbye to Dad.

Thank you for a great afternoon, the lemon drizzle cake was excellent, Dad would have approved

We have been very pleased each time we have eaten at the Bistro 14. The atmosphere is friendly. The service is very good and the food is excellent. My only one minor disappointment was that the chips didn't taste home made. Chips are a rarity for many of us so it would be nice to have golden, crunchy ones. Otherwise, the place, staff and food cannot be faulted.

An unlikely restaurant in the centre of Wantage, fully booked Saturday night and rightly so, great staff imaginative menu with great range in a menu that is not overly large! Catch of the day with great sea bass and a host of fish, happy to combine any of the meals on offer (I'm on a diet and was a bit fussy about what I had, not a pain just fussy) we arrived at seven and the restaurant soon filled up, good atmosphere with everybody chatting (not like a dentists waiting room) the lady who served us was great, friendly and attentive without hovering just the right mix!
The food was very well cooked and presented one of our party had the venison and said it was the best she had ever had, two had the sea bass and wouldn't shut up about it! another had lemon sole and said it was cooked to perfection, I had a rib eye which was very tender and well cooked the accompaniments were freshly cooked and well presented the potato Au Gratin was exceptional.
a very good place to eat!
