“Good Views”
Reviewed November 28, 2012

Not a lot to say really, it is a red brick built folly, with good views on a nice day over to the Whit Horse Hill and surrounding points of interrest.

“Nice”
Reviewed November 7, 2012

This is a smallish brick built tower on top of a small, tree topped hill. It has lots of not too old history, but worth the climb up to the top to see the view.

“Stunning views”
Reviewed October 30, 2012

Anyone visiting or passing through Faringdon cannot fail to see the Faringdon Folly tower in its commanding position overlooking the town. This was, so we are told, the last major folly built in England (it dates from the 1930s) and provides stunning views not just of the town but of the Thames valley to the north and Berkshire Downs (and the Uffington White Horse) to the south. The folly itself is set in a woodland park with all kinds of quirky artifacts related to the story of the tower and town. We found that a walk up to the folly and surrounds was an ideal way of finishing off after lunch in one of the pubs just a short (but up hill!) walk away.
