“Superb value and quality”
Reviewed February 25, 2013

We stayed for 2 nights over the weekend. The hotel is very clean with good quality facilities . The reception staff were very helpful. We has room 21 but the people above us were noisy so that did disturb us on the first night, but that's not the hotels fault. We eat breakfast in the Beefeater next door and was pleased with the quality and service. We have never used a Premier Inn before but will do so again after a positive experience.

The Premier Inn Abingdon was very easy to find in the car with directions and stood out from the road. The building was very nice and well kept next to a river, when we first arrived we were greeted by a lovely gentleman who was very polite and helpful and couldn't do enough to help us with any questions we had. Everything was explained to us in full and we were fully aware of all the policies and the stay.

When we got to our room it was very clean and neat, with lots of space and lots of room and plenty of hangers for clothes. There were spare pillows if the ones on the bed were not right, tea and coffee facilities. The bathroom was also very clean with nice large towels to use.

Unfortunately if your wanting a nice place to eat the beefeater attached is not ideal, the staff were very unhelpful and not friendly. My partner and I arrived thinking we would be seated but were left even when a member of staff walked past we were ignored. When our food arrived we were told to get our own cutlery and then they took ages to clear our dirty plates away. My partners meal was practically all burnt not the best experience.

Good evening, and thank you for taking the time to review your stay at Abingdon Premier Inn.

We are extremely pleased that you found our reception team member welcoming and helpful, and he was able to answer all your questions. We are also pleased that you both found our room clean and comfortable.

However, I am really sorry that your experience in our restaurant was not good. I can only apologise, and your comments have been passed to the Restaurant Manager who will be dealing with this.

I hope this does not deter you from staying at Abingdon in the future, and we hope to welcome you back.

Stayed one night when on business in Abingdon. Quite central, would take about 20 mins to walk. Large car park, hotel is easy to find as on road from a34 to town centre. Room was large and very clean with a comfy bed. Staff were very friendly and helped me to room with cases as there is no lift. Ate at the beefeater pub next door, again very friendly staff and steak was good. Ate breakfast in the pub too, I must admit I prefer the buffet style breakfast but they kept asking if I wanted more!!! Would definitely recommend and will use again

We are extremely pleased that you found our rooms comfortable and clean and our staff friendly and helpful, and that your evening meal and breakfast in the Beefeater was enjoyable. Our breakfasts are 'eat and drink as much as you like' whether they are buffet style or plated, so glad that you had seconds!

Thank you once again, and we look forward to welcoming you back in the future.

Booked two rooms for ourselves and friends. Rooms comfortable, clean and perfectly adequate for a budget hotel. Reception friendly and efficient and guaranteed a good nights sleep, which it was. Sadly the food was a different story, we had a meal deal which was in the adjacent Beefeater - selection for meal deal was poor and service not efficient - one meal overcooked and inedible, which was replaced, but after quite a while. Other meals were adequate, but did not live up to expectations.
Breakfast again in the Beefeater was poor. Good selection but hot breakfast pre-cooked and kept warm so sadly lacking on all counts. Service poor and indifferent.
Premier Inn brilliant but Beefeater lets them down!

Room Tip: No lift so the more elderly need a downstairs room, however staff did offer to take cases up to room...

Stayed for one night to attend a family Christening. Having stayed in a brand new premier inn before I found this one a little tired. Very clean, friendly staff. Evening meal was a disaster, Hour and a half delay with food, staff very apologetic and only charged half the bill. Bedroom was large disabled room near the road which kept me awake, Adapted bathroom ideal except for non slip coating on bath, It wasn't!! I slipped and damaged my elbow. Overall basic hotel, fine for one night, would eat elsewhere in future.

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay.

We are pleased that you found our rooms clean and comfortable and our staff welcoming.

We have taken note of feedback regarding road noise and am pleased to say that secondary glazing is going to be installed soon, which will give all guests a good nights stay. We are obviously concerned that you slipped in the bath, and hope that you did deal with reception regarding this. We do have a supply of bath mats at reception should you require one in the future.

Your comments regarding the restaurant have been passed to the Restuarant Manager.

Thank you once again for your feedback.

Disappointing we had not stayed at a Premier inn before but our family had stayed in the Swansea Premier inn and it was excellent so was disappointed when we saw our room it was basic and not the standard of the rooms in Swansea We had booked for two nights as we were attending a wedding in Abingdon so we thought we would make the best of it. First night very noisy the receptionist assured us the guests in the room above us were not staying on the second night fair enough we thought had a fab time at the wedding, arrived back at premier inn at 11.30 to find our room had not been touched bed not made dirty towels on floor receptionist was apologetic and refunded the first nights cost of £29 the night our room had not been made up was £69 would we stay there again NO
