“Oxford stop off”
Reviewed September 19, 2012

Nice hotel, friendly and knowledgeable staff re the area and an excellent base to explore Oxford centre and outlying district. Far cheaper that Oxford itself, and the town has it's own charm and a good few restaurants worth trying. Only a short bus ride, frequent service, and cheaper than driving and doing the park and ride as Oxford parking is very restricted.

Room Tip: All rooms pretty quiet, but watch getting higher rooms as the stairs and not easy with heavy luggage...

Good Morning and thank you for the feedback on our hotel.

As you say Abingdon is an ideal location for visiting Oxford and the surrounding area. It is easy to get into the city and the town itself has a good selection of places to visit.

Thanks for your suggestion about asking for a ground floor room. We do not have a lift, but will try to accommodate any requests if possible. If you have any requests like this please contact the hotel directly and we will endeavour to meet your requirements.

Thanks again for your comments and we hope to see you soon.

Stayed here for one night. Bit hit and miss really. The staff in both the hotel and restaurant were very pleasant and helpful and accommodating of my little one. Hotel was very clean, restaurant not so much, sticky table needed a good scrub. We were in room one which I found slightly too noisy however not to the extent that I would ask to be moved, de camping with a toddler would have been much harder work. We purchased a meal deal which was great value but limited choices of main courses, starters and desserts v good. Had a prob at breakfast though as took ages for someone to take our order then longer to arrive (45 mins in total). We complained and the staff were very helpful, apologetic and refunded the cost of breakfast. It was very hot and tasty when it eventually arrived. In short generally ok experience, if in the area again might consider but not if there is an apparent better alternative.

The Premier Inn was to the usual high standard with friendly staff, clean rooms and good service. Check inn was quick and easy. The Restaurant was busy but food was hot, well cooked and nicely served. An enjoyable stay.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back as its so peaceful.

We stayed one night en route to a holiday. Comfortable, clean and welcoming like most Premier Inns, though rather pricey. Called them the day before to ask for a ground floor room, which we got; there are no lifts so this is advised if you have heavy suitcases or have trouble climbing stairs. A Beefeater restaurant next door for meals and breakfast, good pubs a short walk away. Book well ahead as this motel is not large. We would definitely stay again.

Room Tip: no lifts so request a ground floor room if necessary

I recently stayed here, it`s about the 5th or 6th time now.

Very clean and not too pricey, though I think it should be a little bit cheaper.

The place always seems a bit sleepy when you go there, which is good because I have never had to wait to check in or out, the rooms are always clean and the beds are very comfortable.

I would definitely recommend this to the business traveller.

The adjoining restaurant and bar is very ,the food is always nice and the prices in there are also very reasonable including breakfast.

Very good.

Stayed here for a night on business, The staff were friendly and my stay was up to the usual high standards of a Premier Inn but I thought the rate of £90 for B&B was very expensive.

Good morning and thank you for your comments.

Abingdon is a small 27 bedroom hotel that fills up weeks in advance and as such the rate you paid would indicate that it was one of the last rooms both in the hotel, but also in the surrounding area. The best rates are found by booking in advance on our website.
We aim to ensure each of our guests have a great stay and I will pass your comments onto the team.
Thank you for your comments and I hope to see you again.

I felt that Premier Inns offered a good value for the money and they are located in many of the towns we stayed in during out travels in the UK. It was easy, when our plans changed, to find a Premier Inn to stay at.
