“A fantastic stay and excellent wedding”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 10, 2012

I recently had my wedding here and I couldn't fault a thing. The staff were all helpful, friendly and hard working. Kerry (the Wedding Planner) was very accomodating and organised everything perfectly. The food was tasty and filling, the rooms were clean, spacious and very comfortable. Everyone had a wonderful time and no complaints (unheard of at any wedding I've known), well done!

My daughter's wedding was held at the hotel on Sunday 26 August. Everything that the hotel did was perfectly executed by Kerry (their Wedding Planner) and her staff. They were polite, friendly and speedy in their work all day. The whole event went without a hitch due to Kerry and her team - I highly recommend them. Nothing was too much trouble for Kerry, she is excellent.
The hotel rooms and breakfast etc were very acceptable and of good quality. I would definitely give the hotel 5 Stars for Value For Money and the quality of their staff.

Nice hotel, the waiter was lovely and helpful. and got me fresh milk for my room Room was big and clean. Bit fiddly getting into the room but Housekeeping were great. Good car parking. Would stay again. if in the area. Breakfast was nice, could have been a little hotter but it was still ok.

Stayed 1 night for a next day business meeting in Abingdon. Excellent parking and easy access to town. The room was clean and comfortable, however it was one of the hottest days and night of the year. The choice of a sheet or duvet and a fan in the room would have been welcome but not suggested by the reception staff ( the Premier Inn down the road offers guests this). My room faced the car park and road and I must agree with a previous comment that the local 'petrol heads' race up and down the surrounding area at stupid speeds, with 1000 watt speakers blasting away, probably all drawn to the 'golden arches' restuarant nearby. Also again I agree the room smoke alarm flashing red light is like something you see on a jumbo jet coming into land, I could actually still see it with my eyes tightly closed!
Breakfast was fine however the 'classic burger' I had the night before was terrible. Stale and tough bun with nothing else but the overcooked burger in it. No relish or lettuce and incredibly dry, maybe I should have joined the petrol heads at Maccy D's!
It's a step up from the Premier Inn for around the same money but it could be better.

Lovely hotel that I have visited for many years. As I have signed up for their emails I get their offers sent every week and they have some really good ones. This particular offer was for dinner bed and breakfast for 2 people sharing a twin or double room for £65. With the quality of the food being so good this is great value for money. We even found we had a disco included in our package which we weren't expected so made it even more fun as we were away with another couple for my birthday.
There is no health suite or swimming pool at this hotel but nice areas to sit outside if weather is good. Also there is a lovely walk down to Abingdon mainly following the river and wooded area.

Room Tip: Have had no rooms that have been a problem but you could ask to be put on the car park side rather t...

we stayed here for 2 nights starting 21 july
didnt know what to expect but we were pleasantly pleased
dont know why people complain about the "boy racers" we were in a room facing the main road and apart from the occasional louder car we were undisturbed and believe me my partner wakes with the first sparrow dropping of the day
we were allocated a concierge room on arrival ,very nice and with complimentary bathrobes ,wine and water all included made for a nice touch
rooms were warm ,clean and just right for somewhere to sleep and shower
handy for oxford which is a great place to visit if your a morse/lewis fan made all the better for us as they were filming on the first day of our visit
recommend the morse tour prebooked at the information shop on broad st.Linda (i think) was very informative and took us around all the haunts of morse during the tour and a couple of the places where harry potter is filmed as well
try the open top bus tour to get around takes about an hour but gives you access to all the places some may find hard to get to with distances
we ate at the restaraunt the first night which after some issues with our booking was quite good
a young man called peter was very attentive and hopefully he will go on to be a very good manager etc.
breakfasts were fine all in all excellent value for a special deal price off "superbreak"
a pleasnt and relaxing stay

Room Tip: book through superbreak for a great weekend deal
