Stayed for one night for family occasion. The location was excellent in terms of access albeit on a retail estate. The hotel was spotlessly clean and the linens - towels and sheets - were of a very high standard which for me makes a big difference. Friendly helpful staff from check-in, bar and at breakfast. The breakfast itself was also of a very high standard, freshly cooked and plentiful and with constant refills of tea and coffee. I observed the staff being very kind to some of the guests who had mobility problems and some others who were travellig with babies, offering to get them food from the buffet etc.
The overall experience was on a par with a much more expensive hotel, and i would stay there again and also recommend it to others. Well done to all the staff.

Room Tip: You can upgrade to a slightly better room for £20 but our room was more than adequate

We had a really good dinner bed and breakfast rate and felt that this hotel represented good value for money with all the amenities you would expect of a mid-range hotel. Yes, the restaurant is more Little Chef / Harvester style food than fine dining, but I didn't have anything bad. Breakfast was varied and plentiful, alhtough busy towards the end of the service time. The staff were friendly although a little inefficient at times and the bar has a pleasant patio area. If you've forgotten anything for the trip, the nearby 24 hour Tesco superstore can meet all your requirements. It's not close to Abingdon town centre, but if you're driving this won't be a problem.

Room Tip: Don't stay on the ground floor. Windows open wide, which is good, but didn't feel totally se...

I've stayed here before, the staff are polite and the rooms are adequate. Colleagues have always suggested that we eat elsewhere, however this evening I've driven 4 hours and just wanted something quick, how bad could it be?
Well, it's pricey and badly cooked. I ordered pepper and sweetcorn risotto, the rice was undercooked and not risotto rice, the peppers were raw and it was covered in a bland oily sauce, hadn't been seasoned and was basically inedible. Luckily it came with a side salad so I ate that instead and am going to the petrol station for a sandwich.
The service was okay, the waitress was apologetic, and offered to get me something else, but based on the first effort I'll take my chances with the petrol station sandwich.

Reception - polite and efficient.

Room - no aircon so quite stuffy. At least you can open the window. Pretty average room for a modern mid range hotel. The room was clean and the maid service was fine.

Food - not impressive. The hot courses at the dinner were dried out and tepid, one item had been cremated. The puddings were quite nice but the coffee tasted of watery burnt wood.
Breakfast is a buffet. Reasonable choice available. The hot food we found to be undercooked and in some cases greasy.

Service - reasonably quick and friendly.

Access - very handy for the A34 and park and rides to Oxford. Has plenty of on site free parking.

I stayed in this hotel for two nights when in the area visiting clients. The hotel is located just off the A34, which is ideal for those passing through. It's about a half hour walk into Abingdon town centre and there's a bus stop just outside the hotel.

I thought the corridors and the room were a little tired and could do with refreshing. The room I was allocated was on the first floor at the back of the hotel facing the road leading in to the Tesco superstore. Tea & coffee facilities are provided, along with a little packet of cheap biscuits. There is no iron, but rooms are fitted with a trouser press. There's a moderate selection of TV channels through Freeview.

The weather was quite warm during my stay, which meant I had to have the window had open as there was no air-conditioning. Whilst the combination of the window being open and the Tesco entrance meant it was quite noisy in the afternoon and early evening, it was no intrusion in the early hours.

On the plus side, I found the staff very, very pleasant and helpful. The food in the restaurant was good, although the wait was a little long; we found ourselves waiting for our food despite ordering a good 5 -10 minutes before other diners. Perhaps this was a consequence of a large tour party also being resident. Breakfast was fine.

Free wireless internet access for the entire stay was a nice bonus.

Would I stay here again? I probably would not, but then again if free wireless internet access was provided I might think again. Its ease of use makes travelling on business that much easier.

This is an alright hotel that offers a clean room and a comfortable bed for the night, with ample free parking. The bathroom is a definite improvement on your average Premier Inn's weak water pressure and fixed shower head set-up, and also offers basic toiletries and tissues. There's even a safe in the room, which I didn't expect or need, but was a welcome addition to the room. Another added bonus is the option - on a breakfast inclusive rate - of a room service continental breakfast. It wasn't the best breakfast I've ever had but it did the job, and saved me sitting on my own in the restaurant.

Admittedly the fixtures and fittings were showing their age a little, but my only real complaint was the creaking floorboards, as mentioned in a previous review. Not only was it annoying that walking round my own room made a noise, I was also woken very early in the morning by other people walking around upstairs, or in adjacent rooms - I couldn't tell which. A little TLC is definitely needed but I'm not sure how likely this is - there's nothing glamorous about the location and I can't imagine many people use this as more than an overnight stopover.
