Just spent a three day stay with the grandkids and had a great time. Grandkids and grandad are into bikes and it's a nice flat site which the grandkids loved for cycling. Also a bike ride just outside the campsite which pass fishing lakes was our evening 'adventure' ride. Good spacious pitches. We were on Pine which was hardstanding with a hedge for privacy. Opposite were a mixture of tent and caravan pitches. A good pitch. The shop on site was one of the best. Not just the food essentials but caravanning and camping goodies and not just spare parts. Staff very friendly and helpful. As soon as we arrived there was someone to met us on the pitch.

My only moan was the toilet block nearby and I guess the facilities in the others blocks would be the same. In the Gents there were only two showers. No privacy cubicles with hand basins either. I did see people in a queue on a couple of occasions. When my wife went she had to queue to use the loo and there was a separate queue for the showers. One or two of the showers looked in need of repair regarding the floor covering. Larger modern toilet blocks would be a bonus due to the large site with campers and caravanners all sharing the facilities. Sort that and it would make a great site better.

We stayed Monday-Friday on Cedar right next to the young childrens play area and right opposite the newly renovated shower block which was perfect for us with a 5 yr old.
The park is spotlessly clean and well divided into smaller sections but in a totally natural way. The facilities in our area were faultless, plenty of showers, toilets and washing up sinks. The shop is well stocked and surprisingly good value.
During our trip we visited Sherwood Pines, Sherwood Forest visitor centre and the Major Oak which was excellent as the Robin Hood Festival was on. we also took a trip to Nottingham which isn't too far, visited the castle there and there's also good shopping.
All in all an excellent holiday, very relaxing possibly due in no small part to the patchy mobile signal and lack of 3G etc at the park :) altho I believe wifi is available at a charge.

Would highly recommend

Just returned from our annual group camping weekend. This year at Sherwood Forest Holiday Park. A great location to explore the forest and local attraction. Exceptionally clean facilities and helpful and friendly staff. Kids lived the bike track in the woods, the trails, parks and paddling in the river. Adults liked it's safe, secure environment. Would happily return. Thank you fir looking after us.
An on site cafe would be nice to see if looking to make improvements and a licence so that the shop could sell alcohol. Plenty if hot water but added shower pressure would have been perfect! :-)

Went camping as a family, excellent facilities and lovely helpful staff. Other campers were v. Respectful.

Campers were grouped so families all in one area making this ideal for us, my 3 and 5 year old loved being able to scoot and bike around the family area, generally people drove with care.

My only even better if for this excellent value for money campsite would be that toilets are cleaned at more regular intervals.

Will no doubt be back!!!!

Just got back from a three day trip and all I can say is wish I could have stayed longer had a pitch right next to park which was very handy to watch my daughter the river is very good to have a paddle in which was just across from our van. The pitches are very large which means you have plenty of room. Went on a short walk to the steam railway line and for £1.50 could not wish for a better morning with a great play area for the kids to have fun in. All the staff on the site are very helpful and friendly great showers and very clean will be returning soon for another visit.
