Called in for a bar lunch because it was convenient to where we were going, and not because I was impressed the last time.
I have to say that things were certainly better this time. The service was as friendly as ever (even though my name STILL isn't 'Duck'!) and in fact when I went to order the food the landlady already knew my table number.
The food was reasonably priced and the portion size was huge. We had the chicken skewers and they comprised of two massive kebabs which must have had over a chicken breast on each of them. The chips and onion rings had obviously been cooked a bit too early as they were not as hot as they should have been, but all in all a decent meal.
We went back later that same evening, this time just for drinks. The place was very busy and tables were hard to find. The pub could do with a set of double doors to the back car park because every time someone came in or out the door they let in a tremendous blast of arctic air which kept us quite uncomfortable. The bar staff kept up with the crowd quite well and were friendly and chatty.
We left before closing, quite happy and I have to say that this visit is most certainly an improvement on the last one.
