Recommended length of visit: 2-3 hours
Owner description: Just 20 miles from Nottingham. Our Tree Top Adventure in Robin Hood country features a tree to tree zip wire (one of the only tree top tree zip wires in the country!) We like to think these are the special Go Ape ingredient that makes the outdoor adventure at Sherwood Pines great for unique days out near Nottingham. You can swing through our forest and get the best views over 3000 acres of woodland - A great place to escape and enjoy epic outdoor adventure activities in the forest. And the adventure does not need to stop there. You can get off the beaten track and enjoy our latest forest adventure with Go Ape Forest Segway - an epic segway experience near Nottingham with a down to earth twist. And Sherwood Pines is also home to our Tree Top Junior Adventure for Mini Tarzans. Release your little monkeys onto a Go Ape course designed for them. No one loves adventure more than kids!

Been here several times and it is an awesome day out with the older kids, Taken my girlfriend here for a date too LOL loved it. I can only fault that it is a bit expensive at £30pp.
excellent location too.

ME and my young man went to Go APE! at Sherwood to celebrate our anniversary.....WHAT A FANTASTIC EXPERIENCE!! Everything about it was brilliant and I would thoroughly recommend it, unless your petrified of heights of course. The instructors were so friendly and helpful/patient. We took 3 hours to complete the course, probably because there was hardly anyone else there so we took our time. I'm gagging to do it again!!!

Good new accomodation. 6 of us stayed 3 nights and the cabin was spacious. Hot tub wonderful. Cleanliness could not be faulted. We took all our food & storage was an issue, worse in summer when you could not use outside as an extra drinks fridge! The underfloor heating was uncontrollable and that is the only thing I would mark them down on. The walks are lovely and it is wonderfully peaceful. Wifi should be free at that price though! The staff are really helpful too.

We (my fiancee and I) visited the Forest of Dean site on Thursday 20th September.

As with all the other reviews, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit, the safety prep was definitely helpful as was the explanation of the safety systems in place - though even this wasn't enough to talk me into taking on the first cargo net (not at least without a significant amount of mental prep), even though the second Tarzan swing being a greater distance and height seemed really easy.

It is to some degree understandable that there would be substantial overheads to consider (safety systems, park use, environmental concerns and the insurance) though we did feel that £30 per adult (Gorilla) was too much such that it shall probably be some time before we visit again.

Highly recommended even if you do have a fear of heights though the stage 5 barrel/tube is not bypassable and may cause some concern (~40ft high with no real choice but to look down when navigating and being able to see straight down to the floor).

As with other recommendations, consider using very grippy glovers, as this greatly improves your own movement.

On zip lines, this is simple, make as much noise as possible.

It is best to make the booking for the latest session available (we actually turned-up 30 mins late) though the benefit was that we were the last on the course (it was also mid-week during school-time) and had no-one behind us which would be best for those with height issues.

Another point to make is that it is not always necessary to book but instead to pay on the day, this is especially useful in allowing you to wander the paths and see the course from the ground before choosing to start your adventure.

The tree top adventure was a ton of fun, and something that all age groups can feel comfortable doing. We had young kids in front of us, and seniors(with fear of heights) behind us, and everyone walked away with smiles. You can do the activities at your own pace so you can spend as much time as you need working through all the obstacles. The staff was patient and very accommodating, and the grounds were gorgeous. Highly recommend it if in the Sherwood Forest area.
