I room was 20.00 higher than previuos stays: will stay at Hampton in future: I am in the Columbus area 10 times per year.
Microtel's are small. That is why they are "Micro"-tels. It's not the Ritz. It's a not a $250 a night suite in Scottsdale or $500 a night West Hollywood boutique. It is a clean comfy safe hotel just off I-71 and minutes from downtown Columbus (it's south of Columbus). I stay there once or twice every month on Friday-Saturday and travel to east side of Columbus for a writing workshop. Very convenient. Lots of nearby restaurants youi can walk to. Malls, too. One hint: If you stay at end of hall the hot water takes a long time to get to your room, so allow up to 10 minutes (yes, really) for shower to get hot. Also - and this is for every Microtel - the HVAC is one of those under window hotel units so it blows right on you because of tiny micro room size (micro = tiny). It's either too hot or too cold. In summer I remedy by putting blanket over part of it. In winter I have to just keep re-adjusting. No big deal it's $60 a night and clean and safe and convenient. Hotel staff always nice. I have NEVER had a problem!
