A lovely B & B in the heart of the town with fabulous owners (Rachel and Neil) who really went out of their way to make the stay enjoyable. Breakfast was superb, with a great choice and really filled you for the day. The room (No. 2) had an adjoining suite and was very clean and tidy. Would highly recommend and would definitely stay again as the B & B is situated so close to everything that the Northumberland coast offers.

We spent four nights here and Rachel, the owner was an absolute gem, friendly without being pushy but eager to help in any wa she could. Breakfasts were fabulous with a huge amount of choice Everything was freshly cooked and really hot with the full English and there was a good selection of cereals, fruit etc. We had a lovely little sitting room as well as a comortable well furnished bedroom and spotlessly clean shower room with a selection of toiletries and little extras.Tea, coffee biscuits etc were plentifully supplied and replenished as needed. We are looking forward to a return visit. The only very slight drawback to perfection was parking but we always managed to park very close to Rocliffe House so had no problems at all. It was a great bonus to be able to walk to pubs, an excellent restaurant. and shops all within five minutes. We had a wonderful mini-holiday Thank You Rachel

Room Tip: Room 2 is a lovely room at the rear of te property and has small lounge as well as en-suite bedroom

Stayed here for 1 night, on arrival there was no one there to check us in, so we left and returned an hour later, to finally be shown to our room (No 2). Room was nice, separate sitting area with TV only a few channels though but ok for the amount of time we spent in the room. Bed comfy, bathroom clean and tidy with shower. But the most obvious thing was how cold the room was! Tried turning the radiators up- still nothing, so we were uncomfortable with it being so cold and no heating. Breakfast was included, coffee and fresh orange juice and toast made for us to start, then a full english which was lovelly. Would stay again but would just have been easier and better for us to be able to check in first time round.

Stayed here in September 2010 for a couple of nights, whilst on a motorcycle tour of the Northumberland area. Rooms were very clean and comfortable, good breakfast set us up for the day, and the place was conveniently situated in the town centre with several good pubs nearby for evening meals. We parked the bikes on the road directly opposite the house with no problems. We found this a great place to stay and use as a base for touring aroung the area, with some great roads and lovely scenery within a short journey.

My partner and I stayed here for 1 night in June 2010 and it was first class. We arrived to find a note on the door telling us if there was no reply to just go in and make ourselves at home as the owner was away feeding her horses she explained that our room was first on the right!!!..Brilliant and so trusting, this started our experience on a very positive note. As it was she was just in the process of leaving when we chapped the door. We found the room clean and comfortable and exceptional value for money. Don't pay any attention to the negative comments on here obviously they're looking for 5* accom at B&B rates!!. Unfortunately we could only stay the one night but would not hesitate to book again if we found ourselves travelling to that neck of the woods..Our breakfast was excellent and service was quick without rushing or hanging over us. A totally relaxed experience from start to finish

Room Tip: Our front room opposite the dining room was Great

Apart from arriving at the agreed time and finding nobody there, which was a bit disturbing, we had a very pleasant two-night stay at Rockliffe House. (The internet booking company had apparently failed to altogether inform Rachel of our booking; she was mortified.)

The B&B is good value for money. Our room was large, with a nice attached shower-room (excellent shower) and loo. Comfy bed. Our only criticism is there's no dressing table in the room but it didn't detract from the experience.

We did a lot of walking in the area (Wooler is a good centre for this) - the breakfasts and packed lunches were very good; Rachel does a good job here.

All in all we would come back to this B&B; it's not top of the range but very homely and brilliantly and quietly located, just off the High Street.

I stayed here for about five days in June this year - the main reason being the exceptional price. I can honestly say I wasn't disappointed.
My first time in Northumberland, I had driven up from London and didn't get there until after the latest check-in time but was relieved to find a welcoming note and info on the door - saved me having to disturb anyone to get in. the

The room and ensuite facilities were very good and clean - have no complaints whatsoever. The breakfasts were exceptional - they cook them fresh when you get to the table. It means you have to wait slightly longer but is certainly worth it when you start eating and can tell the difference straight away.

Rachael and the other staff there were very friendly and welcoming - which always make a big difference to any stay.
I parked on the road the whole time I was there but never had a problem getting a space virtually opposite the B&B. The only slight negative was that in the particular room I was in, the free wireless connection was a bit flaky. But that really is a minor quibble and if I was in that part of the country would have no hesitation in staying at Rockliffe again.
