Great place to take children, just a little cafe so very unspoilt. Good Lowry information, as he painted views from the promenade.

Lovely clean and quiet beach with toilets and plenty of free on street parking. Good bench seating along the well maintained promenade. Local shop sells all you need for a picknick!Dogs allowed.

Surprisingly quiet for such a beautiful beach! We had an amazing day walking along the clean sands in the sunshine. The dog had fun running around and there were lots of shallow pools to safely splash around in and stones to find as well as the sea itself. The old fashioned ice cream van on the prom just made it! Free parking. There’s a kiddy play ground at the top near the cafe that seemed popular. Lovely views across to Berwick, the lighthouse, and down to Bamburgh.

Great beach with wonderful views over to the Berwick lighthouse and to Lindisfarne and Bamburgh Castles on the horizon. Good for kids with a cafe on the promenade - a real locals family beach. If you're lucky you can see seals and dolphins and all manner of seabirds. If this was on the south coast its would be mobbed. As its in Berwick its pretty unspoilt and uncrowded - even last weekend with temperatures of 24C.

Spittal does have a lovely beach and to walk along it at night to watch the dolphins and listen to the sea birds is wonderful .but unfortunately they allow people to take dogs onto it and along the prom several of these walkers did not clean up after their dogs .but not only that i do not think it is in anyway acceptable for dogs to be allowed on beaches were children are playing and people would like to sit and enjoy i do not want to see a dogs messing while i am sitting there is isn't pleasant that spoilt it for me i dint go for a beach walk whichi do love to do when at a beach
