I can`t remember how many times I have stayed at the Roxburgh Guest house, but it gets better every time. Eileen and Jimmy are the best, they make you feel like family. They have worked very hard to get their Guest House up the lovely standard it is, and as for the breakfast they certainly pull out all the stops to please you. I would recommend The Roxburgh Guest House a GREAT BED & BREAKFAST and very homely feel.

Thank you so much to Jim and Eileen for their warm welcome and hospitality during mine and my daughters brief stay whilst on a road trip around the North of England. My daughter had never stayed in a B&B, only hotel accommodation and loved the homeliness of it all. The room was a good size for the two of us; a small double and a single bed We had a TV to catch up with the Olympics after a long day out which was great. The breakfasts were big and hearty, cleanliness excellent, very close/ right on the sea front.Brilliantly situated for exploring Alnwick, Lindisfarne and the Scottish Borders. Most memorable quality was the warmth of the welcome and the smiles and good humour of the lovely hosts Thank you!

My daughter was stranded in Berwick when her Glasgow to D'ton train was forced to abandon the journey due to the floods. Every guest house was full and I was trying to find somewhere for her on-line from my home in M'bro. By chance I rang the Roxborough which was also fully booked but when I explained the situation to Eileen she offered to sort something out and treated her like her own daughter. She even took her to Asda to get some cash and a bottle of wine.Jim and Eileen have restored my faith in human kindness. My daughter said it was a lovely room and the food was great. As has been said before on here : Nothing was too much trouble.

We were staying for the one night, to attend a local charity event. We were very warmly welcomed and shown to our room on the first floor. We didn't have the sea view room but that didn't bother us. The room was lovely and clean and very inviting. It also had a very nice en suite. (Compact but it was all you needed.) We had a good sleep and though we were facing the road we didn't hear any traffic. Breakfast the next again morning was lovely. Had a good range of cereals for those not wishing a cooked breakfast. All in all we had a lovely stay and would definitely be back. Als0 we had a lovely walk along Spittal Prom that morning too. It was beautiful.

We were here at the Roxburgh for 2 weeks and we can only say how clean, tidy and welcoming it was. Nothing is too much trouble for Eileen and Jimmy, they make your stay so nice. Our rooms overlooked the seafront and it was lovely to waken up to the beautiful views each day. Our breakfast was SO nice, made especially for each persons taste - it really set you up for the day. The Roxburgh is ideally situated to go many places in the area and best of all it is just a very short wander to the beach.

We loved the room it was very clean and comfortable, the people who run the hotel are very nice and the area of spittal has a lot of hidden gems, like the Blenhiem hotel pub where the people are also lovely.
The breakfast was nice and in the rooms they have a restaurant guide, they also have information on attractions in the area, there is also a good local bus service that goes into Berwick. I had forgotten how nice northumberland and the Borders can be.So if you need a cheap weekend away this is a perfect escape from it all.
The hotel is on the beach and there's a park and pavillion where theres an icecream parlour and amusements, you could take children and they would be amused.

Room Tip: There is a family room with a double and single bed

Jimmy and Eileen were great hosts. Accommodation is of a good standard don’t be taken in by the rustic area when you go inside it’s a real jewel. Seafront location and a really good breakfast cooked to order.
