Stayed here 2 nights on special deal, DBB @ £158.00 for 2 nights. The hotel is right on the harbour, overlooking the North Sea, very quaint, relaxing and comfortable. We had room 9 at the front. The hotel has been refurbished and most of the rooms are very good with all usual facilities and GREAT baths & showers; ie very powerful & hot. Rooms are good, large enough for 2 (Family rooms also) and the heating is superb. Ours overlooked the sea and had a small terrace via a patio door. This is my only complaint; to get some fresh air in the room these doors need to be left open at night and I would guess in summer all day. There are no small opening windows.

The food is very good both breakfasts & evening meals; on our deal we were allowed £9.95 per person for evening meals, everything over is charged extra; this could add up if youre not aware of it. Breakfast is buffet, very good, lots of choice and fresh. Staff are good but I guess in summer it could be hectic.

Theres not much to do in Seahouse at night except eat, drink and watch the seagulls....but its not too much of a problem for a couple of nights. The hotel has a link with the Coral Liesure complex with pool, spa etc etc at reduced rates.

Overall, would recommend the hotel and the surrounding AONB, lots to see and do. The beaches are first class, the walks great, Golf is superb and we were lucky with the weather. A very nice 2 days.

I did not stay in the Hotel as I am local, however a few months ago I had read in the local paper that it was worth a visit. The staff behind the bar were friendly and polite when I ordered my meal so started well.
My son shared our meals as he is only two and never eats much. We ordered 2 x The Bamburgh Castle Burger meals and one Scampi each meal just under £10.
With drinks the total cost was £49.
The Scampi although tasty came with a small amount of tartar sauce and a small handfull of chips (obviously not homecooked and typical cheap pub looking) The Burgers were nothing special and came with a small side salad which had wilted on the warm plate.
After our meal we were chatting to some tourists on the next table who without any mention of our disappointment commented on their bad meal. Will not be eating there again, shame as nice staff and nice views.

Four of us spent 4 nights here for a winter break. The staff were lovely, helpful yet unobtrusive. The food was plentiful, delicious and hot. The setting and area are outstanding for peaceful walking and sight seeing. Our rooms and bathrooms were large, spotless and best of all we could control the temperature in our room. Our freinds found their room a little warm. We will return - undoubtedly

Stayed two nights at £40pppn dinner bed and breakfast, our room overlooked the harbour (number 17) and was ideal, floorboards squeeked a bit but was ok, bathroom was clean and tidy. Now the dinner was two courses and you had to pay a charge on anything over £9.95, ie Seared Scallops were £ 16.95 so a surcharge of £7 was charged on your room bill, This was not the case last year as you could have anything off the menu at no extra, But this was the only thing wrong with our stay. Seahouses has that old fashioned feel and thats whats so good about it, we had a few beers in the olde ship which is directly across the road from the Inn, a great bar with a nautical feel. On our last day i took a trip to Swallows, a favourite shop of mine where they sell the best Smoked Kippers around, even nicer than the more famous Craster Kipper.
All in all for £200 ( extras included a couple of bottles of wine, a few pints of Rev James ( real ale) and surcharges on our choice of Dinners it was a nice break

My wife and I stayed one night for dinner bed and breakfast. There was a good selection of dishes and we bothe enjoyed our meals. Breakfast was buffet style, again with a good selection. The restaurant and bar overlooks the harbour. Our room was comfortable thogh near a fire door which closed noisily. Luckily no-one appeared to go to bed too late. Next time we will seek quieter room.

My partner and I stayed here as part of the winter break deal and our stay was really really special. I had a couple of queries prior to our stay and e mailed our enquiries. They were responded to really quickly. The service on our arrival and during our stay continued to be of a really high standard. Our room was really nice with beautiful views over to the Farne Islands, spacious, comfortable bed and good sized bath room. The meals were absoutely lovely in particular the mushrooms in blacksticks blue cheese which was one of the nicest starters I have ever had. The staff at the hotel were really helpful and friendly. Overall it was a brillaint weekend and we will defintely return.

Stayed here 4 years ago before the refurb and had a much better time.
as has been said before walking through the bar with all our bags to check in only to be pointed back to the door where we came in for our room.
Room was meant to have a sea view, which it had, if you looked over the wall in front of the terrace that was so high that you could only see the sea if you stood up.
Breakfast was the main let down, the itself was nice enough, however i've had more/better service in a school canteen. everything was self service, from making your own tea and coffee to standing at a table of ageing toasters waiting for the wafer thin bread to take on the slightest bit of colour. I don't mind doing this in traveloge style hotels when paying a max of £50 per night but not at £90 per night.
there are special winter offers which on the face of it look very attractive but be warned, if you stay bed, breakfast, and evening meal you will be charged up to £7 suplement per course of your meal (from memory the Duck and the scallops main course had £7 supplement if you went for the winter offer) this applies to starters too!!!
we went to the ship across the road and had a much better, more reasonably priced meal, with excellent waitress service.
All in all a big let down on what was a great hotel.
