We just returned from a 3 night stay at the Bamburgh Castle Inn. We enjoyed our stay, food was good, room was clean and comfortable. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. The 3 night deal is excellent value for money.

Room Tip: Rooms on the front have sea views.

We have just had a weekend away at this Hotel and it was fabulous from start to finish, the Hotel was lovely very comfortable and clean and the situation was fantastic. The room was a sea view room and was clean and fresh and the bed very comfy. The staff could not have been more helpful, The food choice was great something for everyone and was absolutely beautiful my husband had the steak both nights and it was perfectly cooked on both occasions. We did visit the little pub opposite and this too was charming with very interesting objects hanging all over the place! Overall a very enjoyable experience and we will be back.

Room Tip: We had room 23 overlooking the harbour

We have just come back from a weekend away in Northumberland and stayed at the wonderful Bamburgh Castle Inn. We chose this hotel mainly because of the special offer they have on from November to the end of March, but also because we have a dog and they have some dog friendly rooms which have access to either the beer garden or 3 have access to a fenced off area where you can let your dog out.

We were able to take our dog into the restaurant and bar and were made completely welcome, unlike other places which say you can take your dog but then look down their nose at you if your dog makes the slightest sound! Our dog barked a few times but this was not a problem at all for the staff or other guests.

We enjoyed a fantastic 2 course meal which was included in the offer. The food was wonderful, extremely tasty and they don't scrimp on the portions. Breakfast, also included in the offer was buffet style and again very delicious and you could eat as much as you liked!

The rooms were lovely and clean, large and well equipped. My dad came with us who is elderly and can't walk very far so he had a disabled room, which had a very well equipped disabled bathroom and plenty of space so someone wheelchair bound would still have plenty room.

The staff were probably the friendliest we have ever encountered, nothing was too much trouble for them and they always had smiles on their faces.

This really is a wonderful hotel, with really friendly staff, perfectly located for the wonderful sights Northumberland has to offer, a real gem and we will definitely be back.

Room Tip: If you have a dog they have dog friendly rooms with access to outside. They also have sea view room...

What a lovely review - and very detailed. Thank you for taking the time to do this. We appreciate your five stars as well! Yes, we do welcome pets, which is always a bonus for those of us who like to take their pets on holiday too. And as you mention, they can come in to our main bar area - we have a special section where they are welcome, at the side of our inn. We do hope you return to stay again soon.

Arrived on Saturday 18th Jan for a 3 night dinner bed and breakfast break. The inn is in a great position just on the harbour and is very welcoming and warm. The breakfast was good and had lots of choice. The evening meal is a selection of 2 courses from the 3 courses on the menu and again service was prompt and friendly. My only slight criticism and it is minor was that whilst dining you have to get your own drinks from the bar and if the bar is busy or you are half way through your meal you are reluctant to go and get your own drinks, it maybe that the inn loses a little on sales here, but as i say very minor thing in an otherwise excellent stay. Will be back.

Room Tip: Try to get a sea view room if available especially on the upper floor.

Thank you very much for your review - we're glad you enjoyed your break with us. In response to your comment about ordering drinks, we are a pub as opposed to being a restaurant or hotel which is why we do ask customers to order food and drinks at the bar. Thank you for your co operation. We hope to welcome you back again soon!

Always been impressed and had many meals here over the past couple of years. This time, the food was beyond ordinary and dare I say, horrid, I had no wish to embarrass my host, so I did not complain. Please try and match you fantastic location by producing good honest food. I'm sure it can be done as it has been in the past.

The only reason it isn't 5 dots is that the salad options on over the summer have been taken off. On 27th December people need salad. However a combination of starter and side of green salad was a tasty, if slightly more expensive substitute. The men in the group managed to stuff themselves with pork and fish'n'chips despite having wanted salad. Great food and good service and fabulous location with the upstairs being open. Better than Tenerife! Get on the salads David!
