Lovely traditional pub with great real ales and very friendly atmosphere. The food was good value, very fresh and tastes. The pub was extremely clean and is great location especially for boat trips out to the Farne Islands. We ending up going back even though we only there for a week and staying in Bamburgh.

We had a lovely stay at The Old Ship
comfortable good food and company The staff were so kind looking after our family - our stay was over sad circumstances - the death of one of our family Joy and her team were so kind and nothing was any trouble We will certainly be back to stay and to enjoy the bar very soon

Excellent Rating although Trip Advisor won't let me do this

After reading recommendations in our holiday cottage comments book, we thought we would take our friends for a special birthday meal and wish we hadn't bothered. The medium rare steaks were overcooked and like shoe leather, the baked potatoes had a terrible texture to them and the spare ribs were dry as was the sauce covering them. Although the restaurant staff were attentive at first it soon became apparent that our comments weren't welcome. On paying the bill we were asked if everything had been OK and we said "No". We were met by silence and then when we asked the young girl behind the reception desk if she had got anything further to say she said not really as she only asks the question as part of her job! (not that she can do anything about it). Very disappointing as this was a 50th birthday celebration.

This was our third stay and as usual the staff were lovely, the rooms clean and warm and a lovely location. BUT we ate there- big mistake. I have not been served such a poor meal in many a year. I didn't think it was possible to mangle gammon but you can. My grilled fish was cold and swimming in tepid sickly butter, chips were greasy and just warm, and the veg was indescribable. Needless to say we left it all. Such a shame because the bar has a good atmosphere and it's nice to sit in the beer garden in summer.

Room Tip: Stay in the annexe. Big bedroom and sitting room with views of the harbour.

Stayed here for one night last week, booked at the last minute and very glad we chose this hotel. If you like bland corporate chain hotels this is not for you but if you like old interesting and unusual do not miss. Packed full of seafaring memorabilia at every corner it's great, with delightful friendly staff and a brilliant bar. Dinner and breakfast were excellent. We were on a special offer, the room was fine, comfortable and clean, couldn't ask for more and hopefully will return in the future.

We have recently returned from Seahouses having spent 4 nights at the Olde Ship. After many visits for lunch over the years, we decided to stay. Our suite was Upper Deck, very comfortable, spotlessly clean and with amazing sea views. The staff are a credit to the owners and with a menu that changes daily, what more could we want. We will be returning next year.

We have just had a lovely 4 nights at the Olde Ship, Seahouses. Over the years we have gone regularly to Northumberland, Seahouses being one of our favourite places. The staff at the hotel make you feel very welcome, it's a little bit old world charm, but is exceptionally clean and the staff can't do enough for you. The breakfasts are served, not buffet style, but very good. At present there is a promotion where £15 of what you pay for accommodation is given back to you towards your evening meal. This means you can either have starter and main course or main course/ dessert as part of your costs. Seahouses is a good base in itself or for travelling around the area.

Room Tip: Only know about the room we had, which was very comfortable, stairs are involved to all rooms
