Sat in restaurant and ate in. Fish and chips were lovely as was all the other food we ordered.
It came really quickly and was nice and fresh as you would expect.
I wouldn't say it was cheap but it was certainly a lot better value for money than the other fish and chip shops that we've been to in Seahouses.
All in all would definitely go back!

We were in Seahouses with four friends as part of a weekend away and had already decided that lunch was going to be fish & chips - but which restaurant to go in? Not being familiar with any we looked in all of them and then chose Lewis's initially for it's smart external appearance. Inside was just as attractive, newly decorated and very clean and tidy. We all ordered battered cod and chips with mushy peas - bread and butter and a drink were also included in the price of £7.95. The portions were generous and the fish very fresh tasting with lovely crispy batter. All the staff were very friendly and the service was good. Would recommend a visit if you're in Seahouses and hungry!

Loved seeing a gluten free option of poached cod with salad. The battered fish and chips came with peas and a drink included in the price and it looked equally lovely. The staff were friendly, smiley and very helpful. Would deffinatly recommend Lewis's to anyone who visits Seahouses! Oh, and try they're fresh crab to take away, it's delicious!

Smelt like an over-disenfected toilet. The plate the food came on was too small and the fish spilt over the table. The chips were woody and flavourless - definitely not fresh. The fish was ok, but also not freshly cooked. Moral? Don't try it at 8.00 pm when the food is past it's best.

There are three fish restaurants in Seahouses two of which we have visited before and were excellent. We decided to have a change and the restaurant did look quite nice from the outside. The restaurant lacked atmosphere as it was quiet even though it was Friday evening which should have been a warning to us. The order was taken and food served promptly but unfortunately the fish and chips were terrible. The fish was full of bones in all three portions and much of the fish was grey and chewy and there were very little white flakes. The food was served on cold plates and so went cold very quickly. The chips and mushy peas were average. The bread was stale and so dry it was impossible to make a chip butty without it falling to bits. It was really inedible and I did not eat mine. The portion sizes were small compared to other restaurants but were just about sufficient.

My partner spoke with the staff and gave feedback that we were not happy with the meal and the reasons why. The young waitress shrugged her shoulders and clearly did not care that we had not enjoyed the meal. She said it is impossible to take the bones out of a haddock, which is clearly rubbish as we have never had this problem with fish before even in Leeds !

So if you like bony chewy fish, Luke warm food, stale bread and surly unhelpful staff this is the place for you. Alternatively you could try Neptunes down the road where the food is much better.
