“Sticky dirty tables”
Reviewed November 10, 2013

We called for coffee, looks nice from the outside but it's a different story inside. As soon as I sat down my coat sleeves stuck to the table, I ran my hand along the tabletop and the grease came off onto my fingers! I ordered a black coffee that tasted as though it was brewed a week earlier and my husband ordered a cream scone - the cream was the squirts kind and dissolved as soon as his knife went in the pot, very disappointed.

“Staff with an attitude problem”
Reviewed October 9, 2013

The cafe looks very nice from the ouside but once we got inside we were greeted by one of the staff rolling her eyes which made us feel very unwelcome. Apparently the door will not close on its own and needs a cardboard wedge to stay closed and every customer coming in was an inconvenience to the staff who then had to wedge it closed again. During our stay a customer trying to close the door also got a very stern telling of from the staff. The table was sticky and the tea was luke warm. The 'jam and cream scone' came with squirty cream which melted to a liquid, and the jam was in a packet so not much effort had gone into it and unfortunately the scone was quite bland and soggy. The vanilla milkshake was almost certainly just plain milk poured into a more fancy glass, not worth the money and we left very disapointed.

“dont bother”
Reviewed August 12, 2013

visited this café at the weekend, we found the staff rude and unwelcoming, they messed the order up and we only ordered drinks and cake. The girl kept wiping her nose on the back of her hand, so don't waste your money here.

“Absolutely awful, go somewhere else.”
Reviewed July 31, 2013

This place used to be quite nice, but it has sadly gone downhill. It was dirty, untidy, messy and totally cramped - they must have increased the number of tables they have. The floor was filthy and they had tried to re-varnish the tables with something that had left them with a sticky brown colour.

The food was just about edible, but not very nice - fish was overdone, some pitiful leaves for a 'salad' - and we weren't given any glasses for the drinks, we just had to drink them out of the can/bottle. The vinegar came in little plastic packets which were rationed.

We couldn't wait to leave and will not be visiting again.

“Warm coffee and tea cake before boat trip”
Reviewed July 13, 2013

Lovely cup of coffee and toasted tea cake went down a treat as we where going on a boat trip. Friendly and cheerful staff spotlessly clean.
