Visited this pub for drinks one evening, sat in beer garden which had great views. Liked this pub as lots of wee nooks and crannies and museum memorabilia around from Seahouses history.
Children under 16 were allowed in room at back of pub which suited us with our 8 year old. Would definately like to return for dinner the next time we are in the area.

we ddint eat at the ship but what we saw being served up to other customers was really excellent cuisine. we had a copule of drinks in the ship that day.
the place was very busy but the landlord was only too pleased to offer any vacant seats available, without having to be asked.
we shall go again when its less busy

Positives first. A pleasant beer garden overlooking the harbour. The food was probably the worst pub grub I have experienced and I would not recommend. We ate on a Monday evening it was not too busy. My vegetable lasagne was small and served floating in tomato sauce. The top was anemic looking and had no golden brown topping or any cheese. It contained two small layers of lasagne and very large slices of courgette and pepper. It was bland, tasteless and not worth 9.50. My daughters gammon was over salty and the children's nuggets were incredibly dry. Scampi was OK but we paid above average pub food prices for food that was not of an expected standard for the price. Staff were short of customer service skills especially the food service. Might be fine for beer drinkers but you can find much better.

Called in after arriving in Seahouses in evening to enquire if any tables free, not hopeful as it was heaving, but friendly staff member sorted us out a table in lounge area where we didn't wait too long to have order taken and be served enormous and delicious plates of food. Booked for next night right away. Atmospheric "quaint" inn, just up from the harbour where we wandered to after dinner.

We popped into the old ship one afternoon to get an evening menu, liked the look of the menu and was told only one table left, so we thought it must be good food so booked it for 7pm, we ordered in a little lounge area and called through to a small restaurant of 13 tables. I ordered a sirloin steak and chips, it was lovely, second best steak and chips I've had. We also had a dessert or apple crumble with ice cream, it was just like my mum would make it, plenty of crispy crumble. Staff were lovely and attentive, if we had been closer we would have eaten there everyday. Book early or be disappointed as guests of the inn take up some of the tables.
