Springhill Farm Holiday Accommodation
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed July 28, 2013

Have stayed at Springhill Farm both in the Bunkhouse and Wigwams. Everything is immaculate, the beds in the wigwams are so comfy and the facilities have everything you could possibly need. The staff are extremely helpful and very welcoming. The view of Bamburgh Castle both in the daytime and lit up at night was beautiful as was the view of the Farne Islands. Have already booked again for for next year.

Room Tip: Wigwam 2 gets the sun late at night

We have stayed in our caravan for the past 4 years. We love Seahouses and Bamburgh and this site is really convenient for both. The pitches are large and well maintained and many have views of the sea. The site is always busy but never feels unsettled. Facilities are fine - basic and clean. What ever your budget, Springhill Farm caters for you, from tents to the bunkhouse to holiday cottages. We love it here and will return year on year.

Really enjoyed our stay here.
Facilities were clean and well maintained and the staff were really friendly.
Site shop was reasonable as were rates.
Easy cycle ride from Seahouses and quiet country location - although gets very busy at weekends!

We stayed here for 5 nights on pitch 22, the second pitch from the entrance on the left hand side, we emailed in advance to check suitability for our 5 metre bell tent plus pup tent.
Cost was £25 per night for grass pitch with ehu and pup tent. Additional £3 per night for fire pit which is a converted car wheel yrim. Transport it yourself. Cash only, no cards for firepit as its a `sideline'!
The wardens were off for the first two days of our stay, the older owner told me that when I checked in.
Because of the trees at the back of the pitch we had to move our tent forward which meant it got covered in dust from being so close to the dirt track and gravel road. ( 10mph but no speed bumps so not all drivers stuck to that ) The pup tent pitched beside the trees got covered in small white globules that were very sticky.
4 toilets and 4 showers for ladies, hubby informs me its 2 cubicles 2 urinals, 4 showers for blokes.
Cleaned once a day and very busy, I never queued for a shower as I went around 7am.
Rules state no dog fouling on site which is mostly adhered to.
To make this site better it needs more loos and showers, speed bumps for the road and more staff when it's busy. Two new wigwams were installed while we were there, perhaps that's why the speeding/dog fouling/incorrect pitching was allowed to happen. ( couple next to us pitched up in wrong area, wouldn't have happened if they'd been shown on a map or shown to their pitch)

The Seahouses area is lovely so I will be back, just not to this campsite anywhere close to summertime or a weekend.

Stayed for the weekend in our own tent as a family of 4.
We were in the separate camping field which was nice and quiet with lovely views of Bambrugh castle and out to sea.
We had excellent weather which was a bonus.
Facilities were very clean and we never had to q to use them and the site was full.
Staff were very nice and friendly and welcoming
You also had the use of a fridge/freezer and microwave free of charge. Came in very handy.
Can highly recommend this site, will def be going back.

we stayed here for 4 nights at the end of June for our anniversary and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was very clean, well looked after and in a great location. The shower and toilet blocks were well kept and warm. The husband and wife team who run it are very friendly and helpful . There is a little shop which stocks most amenities or seahouses is 10 minute drive down the road. The only thing i would say is it gets very windy and you will need a windbreak if camping and it gets very busy at weekends. Would definitely recommend as beautiful .

Stayed for one night in a wigwam (2 adults, one child and a dog) was a bit more expensive than other ones we had seen but chose this one because it was close to the beach. The location is stunning, the site is very well maintained and the wigwams are lovely. They have a fridge and kettle and a communal kitchen which has 2 cookers and lots of cooking utensils. There is also a BBQ area and toilets and showers that are just for the wigwam users. Each wigwam also has its own parking space. The best thing about staying here is the beautiful setting, seahouses is lovely with bars and restaurants and a stunning beach. We also drove 5 mins up the coast to bamburgh which has a castle and another beach (definitely worth a visit) will definitely stay again and next time for longer! Can't recommend enough!
