“Outstanding!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 3, 2013

What a lovely B&B. We were welcomed by Jim who made us a lovely coffee and we felt right at home in the cosy sitting room which was so tastefully furnished. Our room was beautiful with a large comfy bed and lovely furnishings. Julie was lovely and friendly and gave us some tips on where to eat. Lots of eating places within walking distance which is great when you have travelled a distance and just want to park the car up. The photography and the art on the walls are amazing and all Julie's work which gives this B&B a uniqueness of its own. Our breakfast was first class. Seahouses is a lovely little town with a pretty harbour and this B&B is a perfect base to visit the stunning area around. We would definitely return!

My Husband and myself have just returned home today from a one night stay at The Bakehouse for our 10th Wedding Anniversary & had to put a review on to let everyone know how amazing this place is.

From the second we arrived Julie was so welcoming and as my Husband had stayed there many times before on cycling rides with his friends, we immediately felt like old friends instead of paying guests. This did not change through the entire time we were there and I have to say that this is the best B&B you will ever stay in! Rooms are first class with so many little touches that you just would not expect and to be greeted on arrival with tea and freshly made cake in our own lounge area was fantastic.

Nothing is too much trouble and it is obvious there is so much love gone into this place, it is beautiful and very in keeping with its surroundings. The Bakehouse is close to all the pubs, restaurants, shops etc & has private parking for guests too.

Breakfast was AMAZING, so much choice but as recommended by my other half, we went for the Full English which was cooked fresh with top class local produce.

We will definitely be returning & we both want to thank Julie (& Jim) for a very special anniversary break.

We only spent one night at the bakehouse but will definitely return - a warm, stylish and comfortable home, a beautiful room with an excellent breakfast. We had a quiet room with a large, comfortable bed and lovely bathroom. Thank you, Julie!

Stayed for one night in this B+B. The location is 2 minutes from the centre and harbour. Our welcome was lovely and friendly. The parking was easy. The room was perfectly presented with lovely furniture (very comfy bed) and kettle / fridge and hair dryer. the ensuite was clean with good shower and accessories. the breakfast in the morning was amazing - huge variety and freshly prepared to an amazingly high standard. We would highly recommend The Bakehouse and stay there again without hesitation. look forward to seeing you again! Mr and Mrs Price.

This was our third return trip to this B&B. It really is a very special place. Our hosts Julie and Jim deliver a first class experience in all departments. We were met with fresh cakes and a welcoming cup of tea. Our room (the blue room) was very comfortable with a superb en -suite. Its the extra little touches that make this B&B stand out above others. tea and coffee in the. room, fresh milk in the room fridge ..right down to the make up removal pads . Guests even have use of their own lounge downstairs.
Seahouses is a must visit place to come to. Offering a range of National Trust activities, gift shops, and many very quaint pubs and eating places. We sampled quite a few!
Back to this B&B after a very comfortable sleep the breakfast next day was again first class. Master chef need look no further than Julies freshly made choices. We definitely will be back.

We've just returned from a trip around the north of England and Edinburgh and had the very good fortune to spend 3 nights at the Bakehouse at Seahouses. We arrived on a very damp Monday (the only wet day of our trip) but were greeted warmly by Julie and immediately offered drink of tea or coffee which was brought to us in the large and comfortable guest lounge. Not being a tea or coffee drinker a glass of orange juice appeared for me while my husband enjoyed freshly brewed coffee, served with warm milk. There were fantastic mini-muffins to accompany our drinks. Our room was superb, offering facilities normally only associated with a 5* hotel, bathrobes and a fridge containing fresh milk and bottled water. Julie advised on places to eat and was the perfect hostess. If I'm being picky, as a non-tea and coffee drinker (but a lover of hot chocolate!!) the provision of hot chocolate in the room would have been appreciated. However, that said as it was warm I didn't fancy a hot drink but if I did I'm sure that some sachets of hot chocolate would have appeared if I'd asked. Breakfast was delicious and the smoked salmon with scrambled egg was fantastic. It was a pleasant change to have other choices in addition to the standard English cooked breakfast.
We stayed at 6 guest houses during the course of our 2 week trip, all of which were excellent but the Bakehouse was the best of the bunch and deserves an outstanding rating as excellent doesn't really cover it. We hope to stay again sometime. The only worry is that as more people discover this brilliant B&B it will become increasingly difficult to get a room.
Thank-you Julie. Next time we visit Seahouses you'll be our first choice for accommodation.

We have just left after a 1 night stay at The Bakehouse. Jim was there to greet us when we arrived with a lovely pot of tea! Very friendly, helpful and chatty and happy to talk about the background of his and Julie's time owning this fantastic B&B. our room was fabulous with quirky little touches and I would say it was better than the majority of hotels we have stayed in in this country.

Breakfast was freshly prepared by Jim the next day and was fantastic! My only issue was I couldn't finish it!

We met Julie and their lovely pet lurcher as we were leaving and it was lovely that she remembered my name even though we had only ever communicated by email weeks before that.

Anths family are staying here the night before our wedding in April next year at the near by Newton Hall (a 6 min car journey which we timed for anyone considering staying in seahouses if attending a wedding there) and I couldn't recommend this little find of a b&b enough.

Definitely be returning in the future :)
