Lovely B&B in a great location. The owners were very friendly and helpful, and cook a great breakfast! The rooms are gorgeous, and the building itself is an incredible modernised chapel. The communal space is very good for relaxing in, and there are beers and wines on sale. Beautiful area, close by to lots of Northumberland's best attractions.

Jeff and Jill are most welcoming people, they made our stay so special at St Cuthberts. The place is just lovely, very spacious rooms and the beds are marvellous! Jill is a fantastic cook, the breakfasts were wonderful! Can't wait to go back!!!

What a gem. Wonderful building conversion and a welcome which is very genuine from Jeff and Jill. The breakfast was superb and everything was provided to make this a really memorable stay.
It is so convenient for travelling to the many beautiful places in Northumberland....castles, beaches, Holy Island, Crag side, the Farne Islands and stunning countryside. There are plenty of good eating places to suit all pockets, tastes and appetites. I cannot praise this B&B enough and hope that my friend and I will be staying there again soon to see some of the places that we did not manage to fit in during our brief visit.

Room Tip: All rooms are quiet and excellent. Downstairs more suitable if stairs are a problem.

We stayed here for 4 nights from July 20th to explore this lovely area. I booked St Cuthbert's House on the basis of the many excellent reviews and was not disappointed. Everything positive that has been said about this lovely bed & breakfast in previous reviews I completely agree with and would only be repeating. What I would like to add is that the small things that make a break extra special and usually come at an extra cost such as luxury toiletries, robes, slippers, quality bedding and towels all come as standard here. We already had a plan of where we wanted to visit, Lindisfarne, Bamburgh and Alnwick we did all of this and found some less well known places with Jeff's help. Thank you Jeff and Jill. We will definitely return when back in the area and will highly recommend.

Room Tip: We Stayed in the Oswald Room on the ground floor, very comfortable big bed with bath and shower. Eas...

What a great place to stay on our first (but hopefully not last) visit to Northumberland. We came across St Cuthberts on Trip Advisor and decided to see if it lived up to the descriptions - after a four night stay there last week, we can testify that it does. The location is ideal as it is just outside Seahouses (very peaceful but easy access to the main road to other places) but within easy walking distance when you want to have a meal or a drink in the evening. St Cuthberts is truly beautiful - well done, Jeff and Jill for your sympathetic restoration - everything about the place says 'quality'. We loved the attention to detail in every respect - breakfasts were delicious and it was so nice to be addressed by your first name (I don't usually like this without having asked people to do this but it was totally appropriate - Jeff made us feel like we were friends staying in their home - he was so concerned when I was unwell one morning.) We didn't make use of the bar facility but it was good to know that it was there. The information file was very useful and the website was one of the reasons we booked in the first place - read it and you will feel you know Jeff and Jill already - the information on it helps you plan your trip.
We can really recommend the Links Hotel for food - fabulous quality, friendly staff and good value and the Olde Ship Inn is a must for a drink afterwards. The boat trip to the Farne Islands on Serenity II was well worth the money but do take a jacket as even on a sunny day, it gets cold out there in the breeze. Berwick - upon - Tweed is lovely - not very far away - take a walk around the walls before or after visiting Lindisfarne (depending on tides). Alnick Castle and Gardens are worth a visit and I hope you get the weather we did for our walk along the beach to Bamburgh Castle - spectacular.
We would definitely recommend St Cuthberts House - I defy anyone to be disappointed with a stay there (but don't go for just 1 or 2 nights - you need at least 3 to explore the area).

Room Tip: They are all lovely but if you need disabled facilities or can't manage stairs, just ask them.

I spent 2 nights with my daughter of 22 years. We loved it. The feeling of warmth and being cared for was wonderful and Jeff and Jill's kindness and attention to detail. was outstanding. We were addressed by name throughout and Jeff went out of his way to help us , even to the extent of driving us to the next town as we were without transport. We were given local information on buses, places to eat and advice for booking Farne Island trips. The converted Chapel made the venue unusual and full of character. I have never before been in a guest house with a pulpit above the dining room! Breakfasts were excellent and we had a thoroughly good stay.

The location of St Cuthbert's House in North Sunderland was quieter than the village of Seaview but only a short drive or 12 minute walk away so we had the best of both worlds..

We would love to come back. Thank you Jeff and Jill and all the best for the future.

Room Tip: We had a downstairs twin bedded room. Our only problem was, unusually for the North there was a heat...

We're pleased you enjoyed your stay. Those ground-floor bedroom windows do have security-stays on them (although security isn't an issue around here!) but we could have shown you how to flick them off and throw the windows wide - sorry!

We have just had 5 nights at St Cuthbert's. What a great place!! Probably better than being at home. Jeff and family are most welcoming without being intrusive. The décor and facilities are excellent and all credit to Jeff for keeping them that way. Access to Seahouses for dining and the rest of the Northumberland area, is ideal. The Guest house provides a quiet location, where you can sleep well, prepare for the day on a good breakfast and then relax after a hard day's visiting and seeing the sites. Jeff provides invaluable local knowledge to make visiting the area that bit better. Many thanks ands lets hope we will see you again soon.

Room Tip: Contact Jeff before you book and make arrangements direct
