“Best 5 star ever”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 6, 2013

We stayed in June for two nights and Jeff and Jill were excellent hosts.

Everything about the chapel and the bedroom conversions have been carried out to a very high standard. Breakfast options and quality of food was very good.

Nothing seems to be much trouble for either Jeff or Jill to make your stay pleasant and friendly.

Is it worth '5' stars? most definitely and probably nearer a 5+ standard and is highly recommended.

We stayed in St Cuthbert's for two nights in mid-May and it is difficult for me to add much to the many previous excellent reviews for this property.
Jeff and Jill were the perfect hosts demonstrating both friendliness end efficiency. Nothing was too much trouble for them.
The former chapel has been beautifully and tastefully renovated and the rooms are spotless. The cooked to order breakfast was wonderful and we were given helpful suggestions both for local attractions and dining in the locality.
The only downside - the weather was disappointing. But hardly the fault of St Cuthbert's!

This is a very "upmarket" B & B! The chapel conversion has been most beautifully and tastefully done. Accommodation of the very best quality with every need catered for. Jeff & Jill are welcoming and very helpful hosts and only too happy to help with recommendations for good places to eat and the most interesting walks etc. Comfortable and relaxing stay - would certainly visit again.

St Cuthbert's is one of the most comfortable places I have ever stayed. Every need has been anticipated, the beds are superb and the rest of the accommodation is the same. Breakfasts are varied and delicious and an honesty book for drinks in the evening works well. We were made to feel extremely welcome and had a thoroughly enjoyable stay

Room Tip: Don't worry, they are all good!

This is a superb place to stay, as perfect as you would wish it to be. Nothing was lacking from our hosts who were fantastic from start to finish. A real genuine couple who made us feel so welcome.
Our room was of the highest standard with a large luxury bed and spotless. The food was of the highest quality and freshly cooked.
Would we return to St Cuthberts - You bet we will, next year and for longer.
Thanks for a lovely stay.

Room Tip: All rooms are of the highest standard.

We stayed for 4 nights over the Bank Holiday and had a fabulous trip. This B&B is outstanding, the rooms are luxurious, big comfy beds, top class furniture, cotton bed linen, fantastic bathroom with a walk in shower. The breakfasts cater for all, my husband is vegetarian and sometimes it can be very limiting for breakfast, but not here. They do an amazing kedgeree with all fresh ingredients and the usual English breakfast except it is not the usual, much tastier, with poached or scrambled eggs and local bacon and sausage. The building, which was a church, has kept a lot of original features, which adds to the attraction of the place. The outstanding part of the trip for me was meeting Jeff and Jill again, they are the nicest couple and nothing is too much trouble for them. Look forward to going back.

Room Tip: We stayed in Columbo, which is a large room on the first floor with two windows and the sun streams...

This is a wonderful establishment....we so enjoyed our stay because of the genuine warmth and friendliness of the hosts, the excellent food and all the thoughtful detail given to the rooms. Comfortable big beds with quality linen, fine toiletries and a good range of refreshments....I could go on....so glad we chose St Cuthberts and we'd love to come back...
