Came here for food in the evening, well worth the drive out of Otterburn or the surrounds. Car park was a bit small so get there early. The pub is cosy (you are eating on tables around the edge of the bar) but it was never loud and you didn't feel crowded in.

Local beers on tap were great drinkers and good value

For food we had a nice sharing starter with some garlic pizza bread (only real let down was that it was a more dough than anything, needed to be thinner and lighter) - lots of local produce and well prepared.

Mains were good value and filling but left enough space for a nice dessert - if you're nearby and want a good value meal and good beers, pop in here.

A fair meal for the price, Steak & Ale pie was full of Steak and very satisfying following a busy day on the moors!

We'd booked a two night break and fetched up around mid-afternoon. After a very warm welcome we were shown to our room - clean and comfortable but not large. I'd read in advance about the small bathrooms so this was not a shock but, yes, they are small and would drive you mad after a couple of day no doubt.
As it was Sunday there was a carvery on and what a treat it was. Some of the best meat I'd had in a very long time and perfect veg. This was very late in the afternoon and we were the only diners so how everything was so fresh I've no idea. The Yorkshire puds are made to a Sandhurst recipe the chef told me.
Breakfasts were great.
We ate a bar meal on the Monday night and this was also top class. Good beer too.
I so enjoyed the marmalade at breakfast that we took a pot home with us.

A great little b&b pub as the title suggests. Very friendly, fantastic breakfasts and some great nostalgia on the walls! Beer was good. The rooms were fine. Clean and serviceable if not spectacular. Bathrooms are a huge let down sadly. Like aeroplane toilets, you have to see them to believe them lol. Don't let that out you off though.

We received a very friendly welcome from the bar man when we walked through the door. The pub had a great atmosphere considering it wasn't too busy at the time. We wanted an evening meal but didn't know they didn't start cooking until 18:30.

As we were on a bit of a tight schedule; the barman pulled out all the stops to ensure we ate as early as possible, even though he was one chef short that day.

The meals were great & reasonably priced for home cooked, locally sourced food.

Would recommend to anyone....
