My wife and I had spent the day walking in Ingram Valley - we stopped off at the Anglers Arm on our way home around 4:00pm - and delighted to find a warm welcome, food still being served and a good varied menu.
We were told that food is cooked to order so would we mind waiting; we were really hungry by now but appreciated knowing that we would have a wait. The log fire was on, the seats comfy and with a cold drink the 20 minutes or so passed easily. The food was excellent; very tasty, good portion size and much needed! I had the vegetarian risotto and my wife had salmon.
We didn't have starters or pudding - though all looked very tempting. I finished with a cafe latte - which was the best I can ever remember having, the temperature was ideal for me - hot but not scalding, it was not too strong or bitter and not full of froth - perfect to my taste!
Not a cheap meal but thoroughly enjoyable.

We had a work event here and had lunch and dinner. The food was great quality and great tasting. The pub its self is an old coaching inn and in a lovely location lovely warm thoughtful service great atmosphere and lovely home cooked food. We have been several times for a drink or meal and never been disapointed yet.

If you want good honest pub grub in a traditional pub, with log fires in winter, this is the place for you. We live locally and pop in once a month or so and are never disappointed. The staff are very welcoming, portion sizes are generous and there is a daily specials board. Oh and desserts are home made, not from the local supermarket freezer compartment.

We returned here after a break of 9 months as previously after having excellent food many times ,we had a couple of mediocre meals where we had felt the quality had been too compromised to keep the low prices specials . We are happy to say the quality was good for the 2 courses early bird monday to friday 3-6pm @£10.95p special .The Timothy Taylor ale was excellent also . For the record, starters we picked were duck/chicken liver pate very tasty with a really fresh refreshing salad and brocolli and stilton soup...1.Main course of small gammon [it was advertised as such but was a very decent amount ] with fried free range egg and mash and veg . The very tasty steak pie with large amount of steak under the puff pastry top was very filling and therefore no room for desert Together with 2 rounds of drinks came to £26 and with a very good cheerful member of staff meant a definate return will happen sooner than later .

Took wife for Sunday lunch after hearing so much about this pub. Was not disappointed food and service excellent for money
