What a lovely place, warm , clean and so very welcoming. Hosts made us feel very much at home and as it was over new year - we were extra grateful! The room we had was very comfy and the breakfast was fresh and very enjoyable.

Having previously experienced noisy Saturday night stopovers in Newcastle I wanted a comfortable overnight stop and a good sleep leaving me a 30 minutes drive in the morning to Gateshead. Middle Stopton Bed and Breakfast provided all of this and more. Exactly three miles from the A1 Middle Stopton is a small holding with free running chickens. I was welcomed by Gillian who made me a pot of tea with some homemade apple sponge immediately upon my arrival. Room was very clean, extremely comfortable king size bed, fresh towels, lots of pillow choices, flat screen tv, free wi fi, a well stocked hospitality tray and a fabulous power shower in an ensuite. I dont normally sleep well in strange beds but had a very good comfortable sleep. There is not a lot of space in the room but there is a nice guest sitting room on the ground floor. Breakfast was first class, although my sausage was too well done but probably my own fault as I had stayed too long in the super power shower.
I certainly will return, with my wife next time (she was sick and missed this visit) to hopefully explore more of this area and to enjoy this lovely B&B.

Room Tip: There is one room on the ground floor catering for those that may have trouble climbing stairs.

Excellent bed and breakfast. A relaxed, quiet location, great breakfast, attentive hosts and lovely animals especially the dog. We used the four rooms as we were staying in the area for a family wedding, we therefore had the place to ourselves. The lounge is well furnished, good facilities, no complaints at all. Perfect.

My husband and I had a lovely few nights here. It was a modern and well presented B & B with a comfy room and great shower. Breakfast was lovely. Hosts were friendly - with a nice cup of tea and lovely lemon cake on arrival. It is 15 mins from both Alnwick and Morpeth so a handy location for sightseeing. Nice Thai restaurant in Morpeth - Nadon Thai. There Is a fridge available too which is handy if want to chill something, as well as fresh milk for tea and coffee.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 2 which had a nice view out over the fields

Stayed for one night on our way north. I would highly recommended this B&B. When you drive in you think you have made a mistake but the room (Ours was first on the left as you come into the house) was spacious, spotlessly clean and we couldn't have asked for any more. David and Gillian were friendly hosts and the breakfast was to die for. We are townies and it was really nice to see the horses and chickens and hear the cock crow in the morning (not forgetting the friendly chocolate labrador that greeted us on our arrival). We will definitely try and and get back here and our way down as it was value for money

we stayed here for 2 nights while travelling around scotland & the north of england and it was a real home from home for us. David greeted us on arrival and made us a pot of tea and gave us some home-made cake that was delicious We loved the chickens running around as we have our own & Charlie the dog who was very friendly. The room was lovely and very very clean and the breakfast was excellent with lots of choice. Unfortunately we didn't get to meet Gill as she was away but a lovely lady called Linda cooked us a great breakfast on the day we were leaving. Great place for access to the rest of Northumberland. Would definitely return.

We dropped in here for a one night stay. Fairly difficult to find as the Middle Stobswood sign only faces one way in the road and Sod's Law said we came from the other; plus the farm sign had been removed. We were directed in after a quick telephone call. Greeted on arrival and offered assistance with our bags.

Our choice was Room 2 as sounded slightly larger. The whole accommodation area looks recently refurbished to a high standard. The bathroom had a power shower. The bed was king sized and comfortable with quality linen. Flat screen tv. Tea & coffee making facilities in the room with hot chocolate and quality biscuits. There was even access to a larder fridge at the foot of the stairs for fresh milk or speciality teas which I thought a lovely touch. The place was spotlessly clean. My partner was chuffed to find a hairdrier as had forgotten hers. One minor criticism was the room was a little on the warm side for me at night.

There was a lounge downstairs with plenty of seating for guest use and a conservatory. Make yourself at home was the key and you did feel relaxed. We were given a pot of tea on arrival and buttered scones. Our host advised us on options for an evening meal and had plenty of leaflets, maps and books for use by guests.

The breakfast was amongst the best I have had with good quality bacon, sausage and of course their own free range eggs. Choice of preserves two of which were home made. Fresh fruit and yoghurt. Good selection of cereals. Toast and croissants. We both loved the attention to detail and the way our needs had been carefully thought about.

You will no doubt be greeted by Charlie the friendly chocolate labrador, a group of curious hens and even a couple of horses that don't mind a bit of attention. If you have your own pets then the owner would probably place you in Room 1 downstairs which has a wet suite. Would recommend this place unreservedly.

Room Tip: Room 2 gives space and a garden view
