Found this place on a quick google search when we were staying at a local caravan park for the week. At first glance, the £10 admission fee seemed a bit much, but I was in a good mood with being on holiday! In fact, this place turned out to be excellent value for money. There's a good range of animals to see and plenty of shows throughout the day. I would definitely recommend the beastie show - the girl who ran this was brilliant. You got to hold all sorts of bugs and she even got the snake and tarantula out for those brave enough! She was very knowledgeable about the animals and was excellent with the kids and patient while the parents all took snaps of their kids with the animals. It's a great interactive experience, and we even got to hold one of the Meerkats after we had fed them which was amazing!!
All in all a great day out. I would highly recommend this place to anyone!

Have been here several times and kids always enjoy it and to be truthful I love it too. Plenty to keep them occupied and if weather permits its a full day out. We take a picnic but there is a cafe there too.

“Bit Steep, but definitely a good day out.”
Reviewed August 16, 2013

There a wide selection of animals, from large farm animals to reptiles, birds of prey and small mammals. There's plenty of animals to feed, like goats, sheep etc the usual for places like this. We watched a bird of prey demo that demo'd flying a Barn Owl and a Little Owl, both segments involved the opportunity to handle the birds briefly which was entertaining. We would have liked to have seen a wider selection of birds used as it seemed they had many available.

The selection of reptiles is rather generic, and could do with some expansion.

Entry is £9.50 for adults which is steep but the facility is well kept, and a good 2-3 hours of entertainment.

“Am I just not easy to please?”
Reviewed August 1, 2013

Visited the farm on 31 July. Based on the reviews I was expecting to be blown away by this establishment. Entry price was fair enough for a family of four. Arrived at 11.15 just in time for the magician who was about OK for a young audience. What struck me about the farm was that there were staff in areas of revenue collection but were short supply elsewhere apart from the petting shed. We had young children and were concerned that there were a number of children in the 8 to 10 age group who running through the large outdoor play area without parental supervision. Decided to go elsewhere at this point. The sand pit hut is at one end but the floor was soaking wet due to hand basins being close to the sand pit and a not so clean floor was also a concern. The petting area surprised me, based on a similar farm in Surrey which had national coverage over hygiene they sorted out their problems when I was there with hand washing areas within the petting area. True there are signs in this farm for hand washing but these seem to be in the next building housing the indoor soft play area. Visiting the outdoor animal area you can buy food and feed the animals. We noticed in the outdoor area there was an area where you could put feed into cups and wind the cups to a higher level where goats were waiting. My only concern was that the winding units being used seemed well past the sell by date and on one the wood underneath the winding cups seemed splintered. After leaving the cafe we noticed there is a an adjacent redundant storage area which is masked off with some some thin wooden bamboo but you could clearly see a now defunct ice cream freezer and other discarded items.
In summary an OK place but it is not unreasonable for the owners to address some of these issues with the significant revenue coming in.
