we visit this cafe on a regular basis and it is not the same as it used to be. we went on wednesday 10th april about 11.30am. before we got served the lady behind the counter was talking to someone who was making sandwiches up in the back of the cafe as she was taking baguettes off the shelf she was pointing out that they looked to big. they were normal size but she instructed her to cut the ends off and seal them up to re sell again. the sandwiches had hardly any filling in to start with. the girl who was making the coffee used her mouth to get the plastic seal off the carton of milk!i ordered a coffee and a smoothie and they made the coffee first which was getting cold and then started making the smoothie.the coffee on other visits never seems to be very hot either. i ordered a skinny cappacino and the milk that i had did not seem that fresh i left three quarters of it. portion size not very good for the price they charge. cafe not very good value for money.

We are regular visitors to this establishment on our holiday breaks in Northumberland and unfortunately have to agree with another reviewer that standards have dropped since it first opened. On our last visit on 11th March we ordered a coffee and sandwich each and my egg mayonnaise sandwich the bread was dry and hard, not to mention serious lack of any filling. Took it back to the counter, explained to the girl that the bread was so dry & hard it must have been on sale for several days, the assistant replaced the sandwich but without saying a word - no apology. Value for money was not good with two coffees and two sandwiches costing £12.10 (my husband's cucumber and cream cheese sandwich was bland and the filling almost non existant). On our second visit to Morpeth that week we went back to Costa where the staff were more pleasant and the food was better quality. We always try to support local independant businesses and it's a shame that standards seam have fallen as Central Bean is in a lovely location for relaxing, watching the world go by.

Hi
Thank you for your feedback on your recent visit to our Morpeth store. I can assure you we take all feedback on board and I shall look into your comments. All our sandwiches are made fresh onsite daily, I can only assume that the seal on your particular sandwich may have been damaged, I shall also be revisting the specification of our sandwich fillings and further training shall be provided where necessary in store, this certainly does not represent how your food should have been delivered from our store.
I do hope you you choose to visit our store again in the future as we do value our customers and we are keen to grow our brand with their input.
Thanks again
David

nice new coffee shop, with window seats offering the chance to watch the world go by. The coffee and food aren't bad either
