“high prices, low value, poor quality”
Reviewed May 10, 2014

The quality of food at the restaurant at far end of the garden centre is appalling! Stale bread, mean filling, limp leaves, coffee strong enough to wake the dead, gravy so thick and gelatinous that it could be used for waterproofing canvas shoes and an air of "we couldn't care less" from most (not all) the staff. The prices are extortionate - croissant £2.49! I shall not go again, ever.

“Heighley expensive!”
Reviewed May 3, 2014

My parents and i visited here 24th April. I was very disappointed in the whole place.
I was after some garden solar lights and found there was very little choice, and were quite expensive. £8 for two skinny looking apologies! Some of the plants could have done with a watering!! The 'discounted' bay was full of stuff left over from Christmas that no body wanted.
and still didn't. We went for a cuppa and found that the cafe was not well organised, designed or replenished. 3members of staff were up ladders behind the food counter which i thought was very inappropriate. My mother asked for some scones and they wern't in a hurry to bring them out. So, 2 x cappucinos 1 x tea 3 pathetic fruit scones (with the fruit thrown in from the A1) came to £12!!!!! A chocolate crispie was the steal of the day at a whopping £1.29 and it contained a teaspoon size portion!
The day ended slightly better with a visit to the fruit and veg shop outside. Lovely produce and reasonably priced. 2 x large planets of strawbs £4 ,delish !
Not revisiting in a hurry.

“Woefully bad”
Reviewed April 27, 2014 via mobile

Met a friend here for coffee. Had a vastly overpriced stale cheese savoury sandwich with a pitiful looking garnish of a few lettuce leaves containing a fly and a cherry tomato halved. Will not return. Ever

“It is OK - nothing special”
Reviewed April 27, 2014

Been here loads over the years but this last few months, the quality of food and drink and the service from case/restaurant staff is rather basic - We ordered coffee and cake - we sat with cake in front of us and its took the best part of 20 minutes for our coffee to arrive. lots of staff but not much service.

I happen to think it is expensive - nearly 20 pound for 4 items and the cakes would have been bought form asda for a couple of pound!

The butcher and the fruit shop are the best part of this place.

“Totally disappointed”
Reviewed April 22, 2014 via mobile

If your looking to pay top prices for a piece of dry ginger cake £2.99 scone £1.89 ( had to ask for butter) tea 1.89 and Cappuccino £2.29 Total cost 9.09 this is the place to visit.
We had to wait 10 mins for our drinks and the cafe was empty. This garden centre is overrated and overpriced. Only good thing was the comfy seats! Sorry I will be going elsewhere in future.
