We called in for a late lunch, the only way I can describe this little place is to say that it is bland/has no identity.

The food was ok, the service relatively good but the setting was strange - cheap tables with plastic table cloths, paper napkins. The menu is primarily Italian, but there was nothing in the restaurant decor that indicated any Italian heritage.

The restaurant is unlicensed so you have to either take your own wine or drink soft drinks.

Nice little eating place. Great food. Small space so need to book. Can take your own wine etc . Very good value and a retreat from the chains.

My wife and I visited this newly formed restaurant on the 28th July this year. We had previously been customers of the previous occupants when it was known as The Tower Restaurant. It would seem that the previous owners were unable to make a "go" of its bistro and had passed on the premises to the new hosts.
Looking forward to lunch we ordered the lamb chops from a small menu which seemed to be excellent value. Whilst waiting for our order to arrive we availed ourselves of tea and cappuccino. Sadly we did not have to wait too long as we were informed by our watress that the chef did not have enough lamb chops to fulfill two orders! Not wishing for any of the other items on the small menu we decided (in the best traditions of a News of thye World Reporter) to venture further afield. The tea and coffee came to £3.50 but no bread had been offered and in essence proved to be an unnecessary expense!
Business acumen and organisation appeared to be not the new restaurant's strong points particularly as there are 2 Butchers just yards from these premises and which could have been called upon to supply the requisite chops! An opportunity that did not occur to the restaurant management!
As I have already stated this is a small (some 5-6 tables) establishment attempting to fashion a going concern in a competitive market. Sadly I cannot see this restaurant lasting too long as it is likely that it will go the same way as its predecessor!

Called in here for lunch as the place had come recommended to us. Sat in the window table and were served quickly. The food was very good but what struck me about the place was that it seemed a little dirty. Not surface stuff but things like the dead bugs in the window and the skirting boards needed painting. It just seemed a bit grubby. The front door was also very dirty around the handle area simply from not being cleaned for a very long time. A shame
