Strangely enough only our second visit to the Manzil . But having gone there with friends a couple of weeks ago and having been quite impressed we went back at the weekend .
The service was fast but friendly. The atmosphere was comfortable and warm and obviously filled with Saturday night regulars . The popadoms were crisp and wafer thin and although the pickles were tasty they made up for in bulk what there should have been in variety . The main courses were however delightful . A Ceylon Chicken Tikka with Plain Pilau was one of the best I have ever tasted and the Plain Chicken Tikka was accompanied by the biggest and tastiest of salads we had seen in an Indian Restaurant in many a long year . The Kingfisher Beer was cold and a perfect accompaniment to a hottish curry . Certainly the Manzil is worthy of repeat patronage if they keep this standard up . Give it a go if you haven't done so already. as I said though Popadoms are the first point of 'foody' contact for the customer and this could be done better although the rest was excellent , hence 4 star not 5star . Hope it's 5 star next time !!
