“As good as ever.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 26, 2011

As return customers we visited Giannis because we have never had a bad experience and we have been going to Giannis for years. We always receive a friendly greeting and good service from the staff. Toni the owner was on hand and just made us feel welcome. We visited about 7pm on a Tuesday night and were shown straight to a table. The atmosphere was relaxed without being over crowded. Our meal was freshly made and was excellent washed down with a drop of wine. Giannis is very popular and can be busy around weekends but if you time your visit, getting a seat is not a problem. Giannis is still our prefered Italian Restaurant in Morpeth as some other establishments in the town lack the friendly atmosphere of Giannis and do not serve meals of the same quality or standard which we find at Giannis. Would we return to Giannis and recommend this restaurant, the answer is a definate yes.

“Fantastic food, staff, atmosphere and service.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 23, 2011

I have been coming here for years and have never had a bad experience. The food is great value for money. The staff are very friendly and attentive without getting in the way. The atmoshpere is cosy. The only downside is that you always have to wait for a table but the most I have had to wait is 30 minutes and this is only because the place is so popular.

“Traditional Italian”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 19, 2011

A Morpeth tradition! The food is traditional italian restaurant with all the usual suspects. Whilst it's not haute cuisine, it's not the food that makes Gianni's such a great place to eat. It's the staff. They're friendly and helpful. If you've children they're fabulous - they go a out of their way to make sure that you have a fun night. It's not sophisticated dining. If you want Heston Blumenthal I'd suggest you go elsewhere. The fact that people are queuing out of the door for a table on Friday and Saturday nights should tell you that there's a reason that Gianni's has been a Morpeth institution for almost 3 decades!!

“Average food average service”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 27, 2010

I have visited this restaurant a few times and have had an average experience every time. One thing that lets it down is that you have to stand and que for a table which can take quite a while on a weekend (you are unable to book in advance) and if you go there early on you feel like like they are rushing you out to get the next customers in. Its ok of you have kids and need a quick early meal but if you are planning on having a nice night out with freinds/partner I wouldn't reccomend.

“Best Italian Restaurant in Northumberland”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 8, 2010

Another happy family birthday party at Gianni's during Happy Hour. This restaurant is always busy but the management ensure everyone is accommodated. Varied menus with all the usual favourites and ever-changing Special Boards. A credit to Morpeth!
