The menu was quite small, but having said that the food was of good quality. The room clean and pleasant, and the staff very attentive. Prices not too bad.

When we arrived Longhirst Hall, it was indeed very beautiful outside with lovely grounds. Once we were inside, modern and non offensive settings, everything was pleasant enough.
We turned up without reservation and the receptionist called if the restaurant can accommodate us. Fair do, but the restaurant was completely empty when we were seated and by the time we left an hour later, there was only another 2 tables seated so I did not understand the almost 5 mins wait all about.
The deco is dated, I understand not all establishments have a big refurbishment budget, however the cleanliness really made me cringe. I never seen tableware so dirty with pictures to prove. One of the waitresses with long hair didn't tie her hair up, did make me slightly cringe also.
Partner described the Leek and Potato soup taste like water with green colourant. Apart from that, the food was generally ok, nothing special to shout about though.
Not the cheapest or best Sunday dinner on offer in the Morpeth area, would not visit again and would warn others to stay away too. Just a shame the place feels so neglected and badly managed as it has so much potential and be a popular eating spot.

Frozen bread rolls, food not great, wine not great, service average. Could do with a bit of a tidy up, maybe clean the carpets which looked filthy.
Will not be going again
