The quality of the cottages and the on-site facilities are excellent. The children used the swimming pool and tennis court every day. The adults used the spa and beauty salon too. There are lots of places to visit nearby (we even went to the beach this time) but equally we enjoyed relaxing around the site and exploring the woods and using the facilities. We'll be back!

little to add really

alun is a welcoming and affable host, the houses are just what you need, and there is loads to to do onsite

the only thing lacking is places to cycle safely and comfortably with young kids - country lanes with occasional fast cars, and hilltop location not ideal for this

Fantastic accomodation and excellent facilities. We stayed in Curlew which is modern, very spacious and has super views. We all enjoyed using the great spa facilities and the kids especially enjoyed swimming and the playbarn. Good location for visiting the fabulous Northumberland coastline. First class and a very relaxing week. Will happily return again!

Just had another superb week at Beacon Hill. We have been many times and it never fails to disappoint. The standard of accommodation and facilities available are second to none. Add to that the wonderful Notherberland area with so much to do and see and you have the complete holiday.
Looking forward to your next visit already!!!

Our 20th or so visit to BH over the last 11 years. Up to its usual standard and cottage as well equipped as all of the others we have stayed in.

Despite the children getting older (13 and 8), BH remains a favourite destination for us all and we have yet to be badgered into Disneyland or some other exotic theme park.

Mobile and wifi reception was not great but, as BH is in the country, that's to be expected. It was only inconvenient when we wanted to find out whether attractions were open and what the weather would be like.

This was our second visit to Beacon Hill and our third trip is already booked. The accommodation is great, Quarry House is lovely and spacious with great views across the countryside (when the dense fog lifted). Good facilities for a range of ages - we managed two games of tennis in what little sunshine there was. The pool was used daily along with the games room. Had a lovely 'pamper me quickly' session at the spa, with extra special attention to detail with a lift back to the cottage to stop my newly painted nails spoiling. The internet signal was very poor at the start of the week, but by thursday this was fixed and was very speedy. Never quite managed to get the coal fire burning, but it wasn't needed really as the heating was more than sufficient. Him in doors was somewhat disappointed not to catch a fish from Meg's lake. We look forward to our return in July, when snow and ice won't be so much of a threat.....

We stayed for a week in October in Larch cottage. Alun even managed to lay on superb autumn weather! The cottage was very comfortable and incredibly well equipped. I was surprised to find out that it was going to be closed for a month to be refitted as I thought the quality of the furnishing was very high. Mobile and internet signal were very poor but that was being addressed while we were there. We didnt explore the grounds as much as we should as we were too busy enjoying the good weather, visiting lots of NT properties and the coast. We went to Seahouses and despite the time of year were able to get a boat trip to see the seals and their pups with the added excitement of an unexpected sighting of a whale! The views and sunsets from the grounds were tremendous. The spa facilities were a pleasant extra and I had an excellent treatment at the beauty parlour. A lovely place to go for a relaxing break. It is quite isolated along country lanes so not the place to go if you want to "pop" to the pub in the evening.

Thank you so much for your review. As far as I know you are the first person to see a whale whilst staying here - what luck. You were certainly lucky with the weather. You are quite right about there not being a pub on the doorstep - the nearest is in Longhorsley which is 2 miles away. Some guests walk there but I think most seem to have fun in their cottage. We hope to see you again...maybe you will stay in Larch Cottage again and see the changes we are making to both Larch and Willow in January.
