“Away from it all at Sally's Cottage”
Reviewed September 27, 2015 for a stay in September 2015

Sally's cottage is a quiet haven in the centre of the village on Holy Island. A very old building, full of character with lovely features and beautifully spacious accommodation. Well equipped with a mixture of character and modern furnishings. Very cosy and the feeling that you are 'away from it all' yet very convenient for the pubs and shops in the village. Welcome pack of homemade bread, scones and Wine is a lovely thoughtful touch. Very comfortable bed giving a lovely night's sleep. We have stayed on the wonderful Holy Island many times and rate Sally's as one of the best we have stayed in. Very quiet and just downstairs to Pilgrims Coffee House, wonderful!

“Just Perfect”
Reviewed June 20, 2015 for a stay in June 2015

If you ever want somewhere to stay while on Holy Island this is it, it was just beautiful, each room is fantastically clean and presented with charm. Flowers, treats and a bottle of wine on the dining room table what a perfect way to start the rest of a lifetime, the garden is lovely to sit in after a long day, we were so pleased, booked for next year before we left the island.

Food at the ship inn is great, not one poor meal,( recommend the steak) book a table early it is soon full. One local store to get a few things. Try the coffee next door to the Celtic craft you wont be disappointed.

Lots to see on the island, but take your time, no need to rush, when the visitors have all gone home, soak up the peace and tranquillity, you wont want to go home

Another lovely stay on Holy Island at Sally's cottage. As before a welcoming pack of fresh bread, flowers, biscuits, tea/coffee, milk and a much needed bottle of wine. The cottage is comfortable and everything you need is there. The island is a perfect place to stay to unwind and re charge the batteries and the comforts that welcome you at Sally's makes the whole experience even more pleasurable. A huge thank you to Sally's owners. We will be back

What a fantastic place, difficult to explain the feeling of being on the Island , you really need to go there to get it. Of course when you do get there being in a fabulous cottage that caters for everything is a huge plus. As soon as you arrive at Sally's Cottage you know you chose the right place...a sense of being quite smug at having found such a brilliant location yourself in the heart of the community.....although everyone who arrives at Sally's probably thinks like that.
The cottage provides everything you could possibly need and every detail is geared towards providing you with the island experience and although it was December it was snug and welcoming....Go there... guaranteed that you will just love it.

“fantastic cottage in a brilliant location”

This is a great cottage, immaculate with superb facilities. It has a lovely garden to the rear. It is tastefully decorated with a homely feel.
The Island has a lovely atmosphere when the tide is in and the mainland is cut off. Treat yourself to a bottle of wine on the "Heugh" which overlooks the tidal inlet. It's a short walk from the cottage and you can sit in the ancient battlements watching the seals and other wildlife only a few yards away.

I was really impressed by this cottage. It was right in the centre of the village, immaculately clean, tastefully decorated and there were plenty books, games and DVD's if you didn't fancy going out. The owner was really welcoming, and the whole island had a real sense of community. The beaches were huge and almost empty. The highlight was being watched by the seal's paddling. Great cottage and great holiday.
