Reviewed February 2, 2013

Just back from a Visit to the Tankerville Arms,we didn't stay in the Hotel part but we ate in the Beautiful Bar area, what a lovely place. It has the Genuine Olde World feel to it , great setting and a really good selection of food, You MUST TRY the Hand Cut Home Made Chunky Chips, They are to Die for !
The service was excellent , a truly Lovely place, we will be adding it to our list of favourite places to go.

We can not fault the Elliot's on their wonderful accommodation in a spectacular part of the UK. The warm welcome and attention to detail is second to none. The rooms are finished to a very high standard. Sumptuous soft furnishings throughout. The icing on the cake was we were also allowed to dring our dog to stay. dispute sleeping above the busy pub there was no transmitted noise to note.
Breakfast as spectacular and the warm coal fire made it home from home.

If you get a chance to stay here you will not be sorry.
Thanks agin George

Excellent, punches well above its weight and provides far more than you would expect from a country pub in a small village.
Food is well presented and is focused on local produce, menu is slightly limited and perhaps misses out on the excellent local seafood, but is perfectly cooked, fresh, and seasonal.
The rooms show a lot of attention to detail and are spacious with good facilities including fresh milk and a mini fridge. Many pubs tend to shoehorn the maximum number of rooms into a given space, not here, the emphasis is quality, not quantity.

The hosts and staff are attentive and clearly want to give their customers a pleasant experience and deserve praise for their efforts.
This is simply one of the best pubs that I have ever stayed in.

We spend 1 night at this faultless B&B run by hoteliers George and Mary. The room was like a page from House & Gardens with every detail considered. Beautiful thick white dressing gowns hung on the bathroom door. The breakfast was one of the best we've had and very generous. A huge thumbs up from us.

Room Tip: We stayed in the gold room

Passing through for lunch with my other half and dropped in by chance.
The relaxed, friendly and customer-orientated service - mixed with the homely atmosphere brought about by the guitar playing around the fire and general Sunday lunch chit chat - made the outing a real treat.
The actual Sunday roast was the best pub meal we have probably ever had.
This may be our new 'local' - even if it is 100 miles from home!!
The day was so pleasurable, we are now looking into staying for a weekend.

Room Tip: We didn't stay the night - we only had lunch, so cannot comment on the 'rooms' etc. That...
