“Simply Fantastic!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 10, 2013

My wife and I visited this wonderful place while we stayed at the nearby camping & caravan club site. Our first two trips were for a quiet drink, and the quiz. As a real ale drinker, this was quite a welcome discovery. The landlord, who drives the Minibus too, evidently knows his ale and offers a fine selection to satisfy.

Our 3rd trip was simply fantastic though. Collected and delivered, my wife and I were treated to some of the best food I've eaten in a long time. My wifes steak was cooked to perfection, while my haggis and pork loin was amazing. The staff and service they offered was also brilliant, helping us celebrate our anniversary and making our day a bit brighter after some car trouble earlier in the day.

“The Cottage Inn Dunstan”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 28, 2013

We stayed at the Dunstan Hill Caravan and Camping Club Site over the bank holiday weekend. An excellent site, well maintained and with very friendly accommodating staff. We were told there was free transport and return to site available to the Cottage Inn on Saturday evening, where they were having a live music night. We booked the bus and a table. Had a wonderful meal . My wife and I had an excellent starter of local kipper pate, followed by fresh seafood mornay (to be recommended)
It was a really enjoyable evening and an added bonus was that they also allow dogs on the premises. We were informed by locals that the bus is run and operated by the manager of the cottage inn and he also runs the service to the neighbouring camp site, ensuring that no one leaving the premises may be tempted to drink and drive. We will definitely recommend this pub to all our friends.

“A very disapointing meal and poor service”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 24, 2010

I went with friends for a meal at this pub/restaurant Sep 2010. Sadly it was very disapointing for the following reasons.
The restaurant stunk of burnt and over-used cooking fat whitch permiated all areas including the pub.
Service was poor, the waiter did not give us menus but expected us to order and was unable to explain what was availible.
Some menus to share were then provided but not all meals were availible.
It took 1 1/2 hours for a simple pub meal to be provided.
The dishes from the starters were not removed for 3/4 of an hour.
One portion consisted of seven chips.
The meals were exspensive, slow to be delivered, small portions with poor service in a stuffy unventilated enviroment. Nothing positive to be said about this pub restaurant !
