Stayed one night on our way to Scotland for a week's holiday. Warm welcome, comfortable twin room - very clean - albeit with a slightly sloping floor which was a bit strange after a glass of wine or two!! Location is excellent, right in town centre, and ideal for a walk of the city walls. Ate an extremely good dinner in their restaurant - food was really very well cooked and presented. Breakfast also was a delight. If you are going to be in or near this very lovely border town, this is a super place to stay.

A big thanks for your kind words & were pleased your over night stay was a happy & pleasurable one. With being a listed period building we certainly do have some characteristics & hotels would be monotonous if they were the same. lol
Also nice to know you enjoyed your evening meal with us the service your received reached your expectation. Freshly prepared & cooked breakfasts make a difference from the usual big conglomerations with breakfasts sitting on a hot plate cooking. Hope to see you again in the future all being well. Appreciate your review.

We needed a nice place to spend night on way to Edinburgh, in a location that would give us town facilities together with interesting & quiet location. This fitted the bill. Its' location near the town walls and waterfront enable us to have a super walk, it is in a quiet road, and has a very good restaurant. The bedroom was not the most luxurious we've ever stayed at, but was clean, and fine for one night.
All staff we dealt with were super.

Many thanks for your constructive review Chris & here is hoping you will return in the future as a stop over point!
Its nice to know you enjoyed your evening meal with us & I agree that Berwick is a hidden gem waiting to hopefully raise its profile through repeat business & best for of advertising 'word of mouth'. Our rooms are clearly advertised on our web-site with pictures etc. Transparency is everything these days.
We are due a re-furbishment in the new year in our rooms to bring more contemporary feel but retaining some of the characteristics of a period building. Hope to see you both again if your passing through.

An excellent small hotel who’s staff are extremely welcoming and demonstrate a friendly can do approach to making your stay enjoyable. The food is excellent and the service at meals is very attentive. The accommodation (rooms) though limited in numbers, is clean, well kept and extremely comfortable. Jen and I enjoy this hotel so much that we have stayed on several occasions and make the Queens Head our first choice whenever staying in Berwick-Upon-Tweed.

Many thanks for your kind words & its nice to know you all had an enjoyable stay with us. With regards to the restaurant its difficult to predict how busy you are going to be. The economic climate certainly has an impact & in recent times everyone predominately want to eat at the same time & this certainly has an impact on preparation of food, the waiting time from the order & pressure on the staff to perform to the best of their capabilities. I am certainly not complaining as you have to take the business when you can & I am grateful for that.
It has been a good summer & fingers crossed the weather continues to exceed our expectation as its certainly a natural pick me up & my own interpretation the general public spend more when the sun shines. Hope to see you again in the future.

A lovely boutique hotel. Nice comfortable room, clean, with everything one would need. Excellent evening meal and breakfast in the restaurant. Staff made us feel very welcome and relaxed. Baby slept all night which is a good indicator! Would highly recommend and look forward to staying again in the future.

Appreciate your kinds words Lynn. Not sure we are boutique but we try to incorporate with being a listed building modern amenities creating a relaxed & professional atmosphere. We sincerely hope to see you again in the not to distant future. Ps nice to know your little one slept well as too, as certainly can be unsettling with unfamiliar surroundings. Many thanks again.

Gary and his team at The Queens Head Hotel in Berwick on Tweed have created a hotel which feels right as soon as you walk through the door. The welcome from the staff is warm and genuine, the rooms are spotless and very comfortable and the food, most of which is locally sourced, is the best I have tasted for a long time. All this comes at a very reasonable price and if you are thinking of visiting the Scottish Border area I would highly recommend this hotel - Fantastic!!

Room Tip: As there are only six rooms be sure to book early.

Many thanks Johnny for your compliments. Its nice to know that the all the staff at the hotel endeavour to ensure that all our guests have an enjoyable & pleasant stay with us so that either 'spread the word' or have a return visit. I also appreciate to think that you thought that your interpretation of value for money was surpassed. Hopefully see you in the future.

My son and I stayed en route to Muirfield. Gary's warm welcome was a good start to a most enjoyable two nights' stay. Rooms are fine: clean and comfortable - someone else has commented on the fruit bowl, and the complimentary water.

We ate in the busy restaurant both nights: excellent locally-sourced food was reasonably-priced and delicious.: short but interesting wine list gave us good choice.

The hard-working Gary and his team are friendly and attentive, and the whole place just feels very comfortable. Highly recommended.

Thanks Martico for your kind words. Looking at your reviews you give constructive feedback from your reviews. We were extremely busy over the Open week & happy we made your stay a pleasurable & enjoyable one. Locally sourced seasonal produce says everything about an establishment & saying 'your only as good as your staff certainly bares some truth. Appreciate your kind words & hope to see you again when Muirfield is on the Open rota.
