“Excellent B&B in a beautiful location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 28, 2014

Rooms at Fenham Farm are in converted farm buildings, with high ceilings, huge amounts of space and views to the surrounding coast and fields. Excellent location for visits to Lindisfarne, Farne islands, Bamburgh and other castles, Berwick upon Tweed, Chillingham, Flodden field, an award winning farmshop at Belsford, the Chatton art gallery and all the wonderful countryside of Northumberland. Very comfortable, excellent breakfast. Would certainly stay again

Our first visit here and it was absolutely perfect in every way. Very friendly hosts, wonderful breakfasts and delicious home baking each afternoon. It was the perfect stop on our way to Scotland and we didn't want to leave!! We can't wait to book another visit.

It's our second visit to Northumberland and it was with no hesitation that we booked a 7 night stay at Fenham farm . We didn't even search for anywhere else , This time we had a triple aspect room. The main attraction being the view across the fields to Lindisfarne . The room was beautifully clean and well stocked with a tea and coffee tray and freshly made cake every afternoon .
The ensuite shower room with complimentary toiletries are much appreciated.
The breakfasts are fantastic and would suit every preference , we recommend the full cooked breakfast or the lovely scrambled egg .smoked salmon on a toasted muffin. You really don't need to eat again for 10 hours !!!
Walter and Gill are wonderful hosts , very welcoming and friendly . Nothing seems to be too much trouble . We will be back and already recommended them to friends and family

Just returned from four days at Fenham Farm; cannot praise the accommodation too highly (top notch, beautifully decorated and equipped). Our hosts were so friendly and helpful, providing fabulous breakfasts, and advice on the area (what to see). Made our break away so happy and relaxing, cannot thank them enough. Their attention to detail in every way (including home-baked cakes in our room every night, lovely toiletries provided in the bathrooms) added to the overall wonderful experience. Not to mention the breathtaking scenery! We look forward to returning in the not too distant future.

Room Tip: You would be spoilt for choice! Ask for Curlew if you want a view of the Holy Island from your room

Great hotel! Lovely staff and service, great eco friendly outlook. Plenty of wildlife, I saw several deer, cats, hares and birds whilst on my travels just to the farm from the A1. Would definitely return if the opportunity arose. :)

Room Tip: Rooms can get a bit hot so if you have nice weather make sure you turn down the underfloor heating a...

The rooms were first class (lots of great little touches like fresh cakes in the room each day) and the breakfasts were (if anything) even better - great choice. A wonderful and quiet location. The owners were very friendly and welcoming and there for advice if you needed it.

Room Tip: Sandpiper was great ... all 5 rooms are in the same block and will be quiet!

We recently spend two weeks touring Scotland. Fenham Farm was our last stop before returning home - it is an absolute gem and by far and away scores the most highly of all the places in which we stayed. I have no criticism or constructive comments at all, it was faultless and we certainly hope to return again as soon as we can. The website is a very accurate representation of what is on offer, so with that and the other excellent reviews here on TA I think I need say no more!

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Quality Bed & Breakfast accommodation on a beautiful coastal spot overlooking Holy Island in an area of outstanding natural beauty and of special scientific interest. The premises are old stone buildings which formed part of the original farmsteading. Converting the smiddy, cow byre and cartshed has created 5 spacious en-suite rooms that are independent of the farmhouse and have individual front doors so your space is your own. You will enjoy modern comfort all round and be kept warm and cosy by underfloor heating. Our location is idyllic with an ever changing landscape as the sea comes and goes with the tide. The farm is an ideal base for walking, cycling, and exploring the local area – particularly Lindisfarne and Bamburgh with their magnificent beaches, castles and rich history, and The Farne Islands – a haven for wildlife. Breakfasts are served in the farmhouse with plenty of fresh options and cooked breakfasts made to order using local produce. Enjoy homemade jams, local honey and Northumbrian bacon and sausages. ... more   less
