Fenham Farm Bed and Breakfast
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed October 8, 2012

I have just spent a lovely weekend in Northumberland with a girlfriend and so pleased that we chose to spend it at Fenham Farm B&B at Beal.
We had a twin bedded room, The Curlew room, which enjoyed fabulous views across to Holy Island and the surrounding open countryside. Tastefully decorated and very comfortable
Gill & Walter (the owners) were great hosts, with high standards and a great attention to detail. Giving those little extra touches that most people don't even consider! (fresh cakes in the room each day and a flask of fresh milk for your teas and coffees, even two umbrellas just in case of rain)
I am a discerning lady and staying here was a treat as it ticked all my boxes, which doesn't often happen.
The breakfast was beautiful, with an extensive array of fresh fruits and berries to start, juices, cereals, fresh porridge followed by a choice of main breakfast ingredients and their own fresh farm eggs. This place is a "true gem" and one that I would recommend to anyone. I will certainly be returning again at some point in the not too distant future.! Congratulations to you both and thanks for making our stay such a special one.

Julie & Maggie

Room Tip: The Curlew Room has three windows, two of which enjoy fabulous views right across to Lindisfarne.

Only stayed one night but wished I had been staying longer. Can't speak highly enough of the quality of the accomodation, the warmth of the welcome, the really excellent breakfast and the fantastic value for money ! I was in the area on business but will certainly be returning to Fenham Farm for pleasure. Thank-you Gill and Walter.

My husband booked this B&B as a surprise 30th birthday present for me in late August. He couldn't have chosen better. We stayed three nights and found it to be excellent, from the location (easy to find, close to Holy Island) to the welcoming hosts (Gill and Walter) to the fabulous breakfasts. The room was clean, modern and well-appointed and came with a different complimentary cake each day! I particularly liked the personal touches around the dining room such as the paintings by Gill's mother. We would definitely stay there again.

Having tried - and failed - to get accommodation on Lindisfarne for a short mid-August break,
we had to look for an alternative within the area. The Gods were smiling on us because we found Fenham Farm. We stayed four nights but I could happily have moved in!
It is an absolute gem of a b+b with such attention to detail and clearly much effort gone into making everything just right - they've really made it a very special place indeed to stay.
Hosts Walter and Gill were friendly and welcoming and always available if help was needed.
The 5 en-suite rooms are in converted outbuildings - which ensured peace and quiet and also means it is easy to come and go without disturbing other guests. The rooms are very well equipped and have gorgeous bed linen/luxury bath towels etc. Each room has a beautiful painting of the local area and to cap it all, lovely homemade cakes magically appear in your room every day!!
Oh and the breakfast!!!! Bowls of fresh fruit, croissants, cereals, full English, toast............ superb!
Simply cannot fault this b+b. In fact, in an ideal world, there would be a Fenham Farm for me on the Welsh coast, one in Norfolk and if it's not too much trouble, one somewhere on the Cornish coast too!!! Certainly very much looking forward to a return visit.

We stayed for three nights and loved it. The location is perfect, five minutes off the A1 but idyllic, in the middle of fields, with views to Holy Island with the sea at the bottom of the road. Our room was lovely, great furnishings, very clean. Cakes and water provided every day was a lovely touch. We stayed here as a base for travelling around Northumberland, it was around 45 minutes north of Newcastle and two hours from Edinburgh via the scenic route which we took. Breakfast was great too, wide choice of continental food or a cooked breakfast to order. We will return!

Room Tip: E mail the owners they will advise which room bet fits what you need!

Stayed 2 nights at Fenham Farm. Everything about the stay was first class. The accommodation was modern, well-appointed and very clean. There was a freshly baked cake provided each day. The breakfast was superb. The owners were very friendly and helpful. Lovely location with views to Holy Island. A standard to which all other B&Bs should aspire.

We echo all that has already been said about Fenham Farm B&B. It is exactly how one hopes a B&B will be - welcoming and all domestic aspects of a superb standard. Our hosts cared about our comfort and well being -- not always the case with B&Bs.!

Quality Bed & Breakfast accommodation on a beautiful coastal spot overlooking Holy Island in an area of outstanding natural beauty and of special scientific interest. The premises are old stone buildings which formed part of the original farmsteading. Converting the smiddy, cow byre and cartshed has created 5 spacious en-suite rooms that are independent of the farmhouse and have individual front doors so your space is your own. You will enjoy modern comfort all round and be kept warm and cosy by underfloor heating. Our location is idyllic with an ever changing landscape as the sea comes and goes with the tide. The farm is an ideal base for walking, cycling, and exploring the local area – particularly Lindisfarne and Bamburgh with their magnificent beaches, castles and rich history, and The Farne Islands – a haven for wildlife. Breakfasts are served in the farmhouse with plenty of fresh options and cooked breakfasts made to order using local produce.
