First visit based upon recommendation from b&b owner. Great food, excellent service and good value. Good atmosphere (wed eve), really liked this place & the staff. Would definitely visit again.

A great big thank you Sottley & this is a word that is not used lightly! Kind words indeed. It certainly makes our profession easier & rewarding when someone is complimentary. We would like to think our staff enjoy working at the hotel & I personally think this shows, although we do get it wrong occasionally but our aim is to ensure that the public that visit our establishment leave happy & content, hopefully to return in the future or best form of advertising & spreading the word. Here is hoping to see you both in the future.

The food was lovely, I'd eat there again. The bread selection was wonderful - cranberry and pumpkin was delicious! Our mains and deserts were equally appetizing.

Many thanks for your great & complimentary review Vicki. Its the little things that matter, ie fresh flowers, cotton napkins, home made breads & dips & its also nice to know that the public notice this & appreciate the personal touches. There is a lot of thought goes into this but with the economic climate the way it is I think people expect this as standard. we are pleased we made your visit to the Queens Head a pleasant one & hope to see you in the future.

Appreciate your complimentary review & we are pleased we met your expectations even when we were very busy on Easter Sunday. The old cliche "you are only as good as your staff" speak volumes & we are very fortunate we do not have a high turnover of staff. We sincerely hope to see you in the future if you decide to stay in Berwick or North Northumberland.

We went to this restaurant two out of three nights in Berwick because it was just so great the first time! Using traditional foods, such as fish, seafood, wild mushrooms and 'neeps, the chef plates up hearty meals to suit a modern palate. With a warm, comfortable environment, excellent staff and, of course, delicious food, this restaurant could hold its own anywhere. I wish it was my local!

A big thanks for you kind words. You mentioned wish it was your local but slightly confused as reading your header an Australian living in Spain? We are pleased we made your stay in Berwick a memorable one & coming back to eat at the Hotel speak volumes. Appreciate your review.

If you go to Berwick you have to eat here!!
On stumbling upon the Queen's head on a miserable sunday night we were delighted to be presented with some of the most delicious home made bread I have ever had. A selection of walnut and sundried tomato bread was brought to the table with a chunky sundried tomato and garlic dip and yet again some home made balsamic reduction. What a start!
Our starter of goats cheese and parma ham bruschetta was perfect and super tasty, following that we had the fish and chicken both delicious! All at a very reasonable cost :)
I though i'd chance my arm and ask for breakfast as our accommodation had no breakfast option. Not a problem and just as delicious as the night before....and just as reasonable.
It just so happened that the comedian who we had traveled to Berwick to see was staying at the Queen's Head and we got a quick introduction and photo.......could it get any better?! Well it did he left us a signed CD when he checked out.
The only disappointing thing was that we didn't choose to stay there to, something we would definitely do in the future.
Thank you and hopefully we'll be back soon :)
