“Good place to stop for lunch”
Reviewed July 13, 2014

Good place to stop before going to Lindisfarne. We had a very enjoyable lunch here whilst waiting for the causeway to clear. Good choice and prompt, friendly service. Just had sandwich and jacket potato but these were very nice.

“What a view!”
Reviewed July 13, 2014

We have been going to the Barn at Beal for the last eight years, and the food is still superb if you choose wisely. It would be worth it for the outstanding views toward Holy Island causeway even if the food was not above mediocre, but it generally manages much better.

Dinner is only available Friday and Saturday and we have been disappointed in the past, so we opted for lunch. Absolutely superb Eyemouth Haddock and chips, perfectly cooked. My wife's fishcakes were very good indeed, albeit with a weird cous cous amongst the salad accompaniments that she couldn't eat. We went back on another day and the sandwiches were also outstanding with superb local ham. The border tart is a must-try for pudding. But the star is always the view!

“Good Food.....with sheep to look at”
Reviewed June 22, 2014

Modern steading conversion into a cafe/restaurant. We stopped to have a coffee and weren't disappointed. Not cheap but the coffee and the cakes were very good.
