We had a fantastic time ,we were there for a darts weekend in standard caravans and can't fault it .caravan was clean and smelled great . Living room area had fitted sofa right round ,gas fire and there is tons of storage all around. In the kitchen you have everything you need microwave ,kettle toaster. Bedrooms again plenty of storage and the beds are so comfy. We took an xtra fire as you only have heating in living room area and a throw as it was November. Staff so cheery and friendly even tho they must be knackered after a full season. We ate at both mash and barrel and the chipshop both great service and food is great also good prices. Drink prices are slightly dearer but you expect that.plenty of amusements for kids and the reps seemed to be keeping them busy with plenty to do.swimming pool looked spotless as you can see it from mash and barrel.if you wanted to go in to berwick there was a shuttle bus that leaves from the park .was in the laundrette it has everything you need very clean. The spar shop has everything you need and the prices were ok. The manager and his team of workers should be proud and deserve a pat on the back, keep up the good work we had read the reviews and were a bit dubious at first but how wrong we were.

Room Tip: We were in headlands 118 which was near the complex

Booked a weekend break to meet up with family in a superior caravan, on arrival we were greeted by cigarette buts by the door, the door didn't shut properly which made an already cold caravan even colder.
The blind in the kitchen was sticky to touch and covered in dirt, the fold out bed had tissues at the back of it. The caravan was freezing at night, had to sleep in living room with fire on.
We were told not to park on the grass but no parking spaces were available.
Woke up by people having an argument outside our caravan and then had a phone call to blame the noise on us, this was rectified quickly but should never have happened in the first place. We left a day earlier, not very enjoyable at all. I have wrote to the park but no response as of yet

This is definitely one of the better Haven parks, we have stayed in a few up and down the country and we found this to be the best so far. They couldn't do enough for us and even phoned me to ask if everything was ok and if they could do anything for us, which I must say I have never experienced at other Havens! The staff here are very helpful and friendly and we felt very welcome after our 3 and a half hour journey. The caravan we were given was clean, and had everything we needed for the 4 of us. The only moan is the beds.. yes I know everybody moans about them but they were soo hard!!!! and the caravan was very cold at night (our fault for not taking their advice and bringing extra blankets!!). Mind you it was end of October so couldn't really expect anything else. The food was great, fish and chips on first evening and the lady there was very lovely and helpful.. The Mash and Barrel food was plentiful and very nice. My daughter was trying to win a novelty from the 2p machines and not having much luck, so she asked a very nice young man called Jordan if she could buy one, he gave her one without any question - may sound daft but it made her holiday!!!. We didn't spend much time around the complex as we were out every day but it looked very clean and the staff were very helpful. The only real aspect that spoilt it for us as a family was the drunken ladies who were in the Mash an Barrel swearing and falling over on the floor, now please don't get me wrong I do like a drink but it was full of families and they were swearing and carrying on. Not really Haven's fault though. We will be back in Northumberland as it is very beautiful, but not at Haven unfortunately.
Thanks for a lovely break and keep up the good work!!!!

Room Tip: Stayed in Farne Close and its close to the beach - we had a sea view which was lovely

We went to Berwick on 25th October for a 3 night holiday, and we loved it :)

I'll start from arriving at the park; the entrance is stunning - it's such a welcome when you've been travelling, especially on a train like us.

Super - helpful Laura checked us in, we arrived a little early (2:50pm), so took our chances and tried to check in - to our surprise our caravan (with 4pm check in) was ready! Laura showed us how to get there without a car and we found our fantastic accommodation straight away - with the caravan being in the middle of the "street" I slipped a little bit because it was slightly wet after the rain, not Haven's fault of course.

The caravan was lovely - and, not as cold as we'd expected. There were one or two little niggles; the door didn't open properly once closed (we had to push the handle and lift the door. You could see it was scraping where the frame had worn.) Another thing was we found a disposable razor on the upper shelf, we just didn't touch it. Other than these little things, the caravan was great. It did get cold at night, but to be fair, Laura had rung us the week before to tell us it would be cold, and to bring heaters. We came on the train, so that wasn't an option, there are some to hire, but we didn't bother. It soon warmed up.

On an evening the entertainment was really good - it's a little bit cheesy, but it does have to entertain all ages to be fair. The FunStars were really good, and always put 110% in to the shows!

We ate in the Mash & Barrel, Chip shop, and food from the Spar. It was a bit expensive, but it's a holiday - who cares!

Overall it was a really good holiday, and we'd certainly LOVE to come back again :)

A big thanks to Laura on reception who even rang to check everything was ok, and to all of the other staff who were never rude, ignorant or unpleasant. Everyone was kind and we were made to feel VERY welcome.

If only we could buy a caravan here :)

We booked 4 nights here as a cheap and cheerful break as opposed to the Haven sites we usually go to a bit further afield.

We've visited many Haven parks - some of the much bigger, busier parks with more to do and also quieter ones like Wild Duck (a definite family favourite) and although Berwick is also a quieter park, it just didn't grab us like Wild Duck does and doesn't have that friendly feel that we're used to when we visit the Norfolk park.

Pros:

Check in was quick, easy and friendly.

Caravan was immaculate. We booked a Prestige caravan and were sited in The Cheviots. Caravan had everything we needed, was comfortable, warm, modern and close to the complex.

Reception rang and left a message the morning after we arrived to make sure that we'd settled in and everything was okay with our caravan. Very nice, much appreciated touch.

All staff we met from reception, Spar, security and in the complex were extremely pleasant.

Park was clean and well kept.

Cons:
We apreciate we were there towards end of season and park was fairly quiet but there really isn't a great deal to do onsite.

Funstars seemed very disinterested/jaded.

Disabled acess. My son is a wheelchair user and in the amusements were on two levels with many of the ticket games and also the prize shop being on the lower level. The only internal access to this is down stairs. We did discover a door at the back of the amusements that led you outside to another door to the lower level. There were no directions to this, no staff told us about it despite watching us try to lift his wheelchair down the stairs and the outside area between the two doors was poorly lit. The access door was only unlocked once during our stay so we had to ask staff to open it to enable my son to get downstairs.

The Showbar also seemed to be without ramp access to the dancefloor and stage area.

Obviously Haven can't be held responsible for the type of people who stay there but the whole place just felt very rough and there was an unfriendly undercurrent about the place that made us feel a little on edge. The walkways from the complex to our caravan were very dark, dimly lit and we didn't feel as comfortable walking with two young children as we have in previous parks.

Overall, we just wanted a base for a few days as we like to explore the area we're in and for that purpose, it was absolutely fine. The immediate surrounding area doesn't have a great deal to do other than exploring Berwick itself but we enjoyed visits to Eyemouth, St Abb's Head, Alnwick (so good we went twice), Tynemouth, Newcastle, South Shields.

Would we go back again? Unlikely. There was definitely nothing majorly wrong with the park but it just wasn't for us and we definitely have Haven parks far higher up the list of ones we want to revisit.

Hi and Thanks for reviewing us on Trip Advisor, a bit of a mixed bag in terms of reviews, and has certainly given us one or two things to consider for improvement.

In terms of wheelchair access, unfortunately there is no ramp access to the dance floor and the lower level of the arcade. However the door can be opened on request and I am sorry to hear that staff did not come to your aid. It’s unusual for us to receive this kind of feedback and we will be doing all we can to make sure that this does not happen again.

We’re looking at ways to improve street lighting as one of our priorities is making sure our customers feel safe and secure whilst here.

We’ve been blessed with lots of positive comments about the friendliness of this site but even if one person feels this way it is essential that we improve this.

On the plus side it’s great to hear that your caravan was nothing short of immaculate, that you found it comfortable and that the majority of the team looked after you well.

I’m sure you will be continuing to use the brand and if there is anything I can help with I’d be pleased to hear from you.

After booking a weekend break through the sun's £9.50 holidays we've found a gem of a caravan park. It's located perfectly within walking distance of the main high street and just a few slightly steep stairs to the beach, perfect for a morning stroll on a fresh October morning. The park was vast with caravans but still remained peaceful during the evening. Venturing out of the park we found ourselves immediatley on the main high street with lovely little shops for the tourists and some great pubs for the type of tourists that we are. A short drive out is a must as the surrounding areas will make for a better overall experience.

The main complex had a real buzz about it and the swimming pool was always busy. Although we didn't enter the bar on an evening we did have a few pennies on the arcades which will keep kids of all ages entertained, just take plenty of change.

Within, the caravan was stocked with cultlery and kitchen essentials, the gas oven was a pain as cooking food became difficult. On arriving the caravan did have a few light bulbs missing and a smell of wet dog so take air fresheners just incase.

Our biggest tip, dont feed the seagulls.

Hi, Thanks for the review on trip advisor. Sounds like you’ve had a great break with us.

We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed Berwick-upon-Tweed and the surrounding area; it’s so easy to access from the park.

Although I am pleased to see you enjoyed your stay with us and had a good time on the park, I’m disappointed that your caravan needed a couple of light bulbs and was not as fresh as it should have been on your arrival.

If you are returning again please feel free to contact me on the park as I will be happy personally ensure that your accommodation makes your holiday complete.

Laura Wilkinson

P.S. Thanks for not feeding the seagulls
