“Great place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 11, 2012

Enjoyed 2 nights with KGB voucher which was great value. Quiet room - no noise from the A1 and lovely view of Bamburgh Castle in the distance. Good breakfast but we didn't have any other meals as we were out and about. Friendly staff. Would stay again.

Stayed overnight at the Purdy Lodge couple of months ago. I was going to kip in my car but decided to try for a room there instead. What can I say except it was terrific. Lovely staff comfortable room and the views to the East and the sea were fabulous. Nice friendly bar and grub good too. All very reasonably priced. Would definitely stay again and thoroughly recommend it.

Don't be put off that it's right beside a truck stop. The lodge itself is clean, quiet and had gorgeous views from the rooms at the rear. Ask for a rear room! It's in a good place to explore the Northumberland coastline. The price is good but the best bit is the friendly staff. If we return to the area we would definitely consider staying here again.

Wasn't sure whether to give Purdy Lodge 3 or 4 blobs. A great welcome and reception experience and the rooms were lovely and modern and clean. We didn't have the evening meal but we did have breakfast, which was a little expensive for what it was (£8.50 gets you a fry-up, tea, toast, juice and a small packet of cereal). Maybe the adjacent

The pricing was a bit strange. Seemed to make a difference whether the 5 of us, in rooms for 4 and 2, arranged ourselves 4-1 or 3-2. In the end we paid more for breakfast than the amount we were first quoted. So be sure to make sure you get the best deal when booking.

Stopped here on our way home from Scotland for a meal.

It was excellent, really clean and the staff were very friendly/welcoming. Would definately return again. We had a starter to share, two mains, two deserts and two drinks for £40 including a tip. Great value.

Can't comment on the hotel as we didn't stay but we cannot fault the restaurant.

Maybe this place needs its own 'restaurant' listing as well as a hotel because I bet a lot of people are overlooking it.

Got a good deal on this hotel for two nights. Me and hubby went exploring Northumberland as we had never been before. This is a lovely motorway hotel with a lovely restaurant serving delicious food very reasonably priced.

The rooms were clean and fresh with complimentary tea coffee facilities. he rooms face the back of the hotel and we were not bothered by any road noise at all. The staff very helpfull and courteous. All in all a great stay.

Only downside was nowhere to walk after meal and drinks (obviously cannot drive) as it is on the A1.

Many thanks to all the staff for a very pleasant stay.

We booked a 2 night deal via KGB Deals as we wanted to visit Bamburgh & Alnwick Castles. Located on the A1, with absolutely no noise from the road, with room views over open countryside with views of Bamburgh Castle. The room was excellent, well stocked with tea, coffee and toiletries, very clean and comfortable too. Breakfast consisted of a choice of cereal, yoghurt, fruit juices and the "full English", which my partner had, I opted for scrambled eggs on toast; both faultless. We had drinks in the bar in the second night, and were greeted by lovely welcoming staff, as we were at breakfast. In a nutshell, a faultless jewel of a hotel.
