You’d be right to wonder just how they can assemble a menu of this size and choice and still produce every single dish of such excellent quality. Maybe it’s Northumberland magic. More likely it’s the extremely talented chef and owner. Either way, they pull it off.
The food’s probably the best you can get for miles. Take that monkfish, prawn and salmon curry: it can hold its own against the cuisine served in upscale London restaurants, but it’s about 40% cheaper. Plus Sandra the waitress and barmaid is, like her male colleague, really nice.
If you haven’t been to The White Swan, go. Go now. And, if you’re visiting before Christmas, say hello to the two friendly turkeys wandering in the car park.
